Breakfast offerings at the hotel receive positive feedback for their variety and quality with highlights including hot, delicious food and a good selection of items like Belgian waffles, yogurt and fresh fruit. Families find the room layout ideal for their needs, though some guests noted that the rooms seemed dated with minor issues like peeling paint and slow sink drainage. Despite these criticisms, the positive remarks about room functionality and cleanliness stand out.
Cleanliness reviews are somewhat mixed. While many guests found the rooms spacious and pleasant with comfortable beds, some reported issues like cigarette burns, stained carpets and unpleasant smells. The hotel's housekeeping staff are generally praised for their helpfulness, contributing to a mostly positive, albeit occasionally inconsistent, cleaning experience.
The staff at Super 8 by Wyndham Barrie South receive extensive praise for their friendliness and efficiency. Specific staff members are frequently mentioned for their warm welcomes and professional service. Opinions on the beds are varied; some guests describe them as comfortable with sufficient pillows, while others report issues with old, lumpy and hard mattresses, suggesting a need for updates.
