Sleep & Go Brussels South offers a strategic and convenient location, making it particularly attractive to travelers seeking easy access to both Brussels and Waterloo. The hotel is lauded for its peaceful, secure and residential neighborhood, providing a quiet stay while still being a short drive from the bustling city center. Additionally, the ample free parking and nearby public transport options are significant advantages, ensuring stress-free navigation for guests with or without vehicles. The presence of amenities like a charming tapas bar next door further adds to the hotel’s appeal.
Guests consistently commend the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, particularly the reception team, whose warm and attentive service significantly enhances the overall experience. The positive interactions with the staff contribute to the hotel's good value for money, creating a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for many guests.
However, the hotel’s breakfast service has received mixed reviews with some enjoying a basic yet tasty selection, including scrambled eggs and excellent pastries, while others encountered issues with availability and quality. Enhanced breakfast offerings could further improve the guest experience, especially given the limited nearby shops.
The rooms are spacious and budget-friendly, ideal for families or anyone needing extra space. Although many guests find the beds comfortable and conducive to a decent night's sleep, there are notable drawbacks. The decor and furnishings are frequently described as outdated with some rooms and facilities in need of renovation. Cleanliness issues, such as dusty floors, dirty bathrooms and mold in the showers, have been significant concerns, indicating a need for better maintenance and hygiene standards.
Furthermore, the rooms lack soundproofing, leading to noise disturbances from ventilation systems and the street. The absence of certain amenities, like minibars and power outlets near the bed, posed inconveniences for some guests. Despite these issues, free parking and the ability to collect keys at any hour add a layer of convenience.
Overall, Sleep & Go Brussels South suits travelers who prioritize location, space and affordability over modern comforts and pristine conditions. While it has considerable strengths, particularly in service and location, addressing the cleanliness and maintaining the facilities could elevate the hotel to meet guests’ expectations more consistently.
