Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Fontana Resort is characterized by its exceptional location, beautifully nestled among pine trees and directly by the sea, offering phenomenal sea views from rooms and balconies. Its strategic position near the charming town of Jelsa provides guests with easy access to local attractions, shops and restaurants. The tranquility and natural beauty of the surroundings make it an ideal spot for a serene retreat, further enhanced by the cleanliness of the apartments and friendliness of the staff.
Breakfast at Fontana Resort receives mixed reviews. While many guests appreciate the buffet's variety, friendly staff and pleasant terrace with a sea view, others find the options repetitive and below the standard expected of a four-star resort. Improvements in variety, quality and overall breakfast presentation are areas for potential enhancement.
Dinner offerings generally receive positive remarks for their variety and quality with well-prepared meat and fish options. However, some guests find the quality inconsistent, especially at breakfast and the dining hours restrictive, necessitating early dinners elsewhere. Lunches served by the pool and on the terrace are praised for being reasonably priced and enjoyable, although issues such as the need to purchase drinks separately and occasional miscommunications regarding meal costs are noted.
The rooms at Fontana Resort present a significant area for improvement. Guests frequently describe them as old, dated and in urgent need of renovation with worn-out furniture and a lack of basic amenities such as air conditioning and refrigerators. Cleanliness issues, including dusty surfaces, stains and infestations, are also common. Despite these drawbacks, some rooms are noted for their spaciousness and comfortable beds.
Cleanliness throughout the resort is a concern for many guests with reports of dirty carpets, cobwebs and bathrooms in need of renovation. Issues such as stained towels and sheets, broken light fixtures and outdated furniture further contribute to the negative reviews. However, the location's proximity to the clean beach and town of Jelsa is a redeeming aspect.
The staff at Fontana Resort are consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. Guests commend the reception, meal service and cleaning staff for their attentive and efficient service, contributing significantly to the overall positive guest experience.
The Wi-Fi experience at Fontana Resort is mixed with some guests praising its quality, while others report poor or non-functional connectivity in certain areas.
The pool area, while offering clean and safe swimming options and stunning sea views, faces mixed reviews due to its size, potential overcrowding and the shared usage with other hotels. Despite these limitations, the proximity to picturesque beaches and a serene promenade adds to the positive aspects of the pool area.
Parking at Fontana Resort is generally convenient with ample, shaded, free parking spaces available. However, the distance from parking areas to rooms and the challenging navigation during peak seasons can be drawbacks, especially for those with mobility issues.
Fontana Resort is an attractive family destination with its scenic beach, mini club for children and spacious apartments close to the sea. The resort's numerous stairs and lack of certain amenities for babies pose minor challenges, but overall, the welcoming staff and serene environment create a memorable family vacation experience.
The beds at Fontana Resort receive varied feedback. While some guests find them comfortable and adequate, others report issues with old, noisy and sagging mattresses, as well as cleanliness concerns. Addressing these maintenance and quality issues could enhance the overall guest experience.
In summary, Fontana Resort boasts an exceptional location and friendly staff with some areas in need of significant improvement, particularly regarding room conditions, cleanliness and dining options.
