Super 8 by Wyndham Cromwell/Middletown is well-regarded for its strategic and convenient location, situated near major highways which provide easy access to cities like Hartford and New Haven, as well as Middletown. Its proximity to a variety of restaurants and stores enhances its appeal, while the setting in a business park mixed with suburban homes offers a quiet and safe atmosphere. The hotel is praised for its affordability, making it a solid choice for both leisure and business travelers.
Guests have had mixed experiences with the breakfast offerings; while some found it minimal, others appreciated surprises such as make-your-own waffles and fresh fruit. The continental breakfast includes yogurt, pastries, bread, and cereals, which satisfies many. The recent improvements in the breakfast area further contribute to a positive morning experience for some guests.
The hotel's rooms are often described as clean, spacious, and modern, with comfort being a standout feature, particularly the plush beds. The hotel's recent renovations have added a fresh feel to the accommodations, making the stay more enjoyable. Although some guests noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall response indicates satisfaction with the accommodation's basic comfort and layout.
The staff at Super 8 by Wyndham Cromwell/Middletown are frequently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. The front desk team is noted for their courteous service and willingness to assist guests, which significantly enhances the overall guest experience. Despite occasional critiques, the general sentiment towards the staff remains positive.
The hotel offers free WiFi, which some find reliable, though connectivity issues have been noted. These intermittent challenges suggest a need for improvement but are balanced by the convenience of complimentary internet access. The parking facilities are regarded positively, with ample, free, and well-lit spaces, contributing to a sense of security. However, the presence of some abandoned vehicles is noted as a minor concern.
