The "New Hotel of Marseille - Vieux Port" is highly praised by guests for its remarkable location. Conveniently situated near the Vieux Port, it offers easy access to the old harbor, beaches, notable landmarks like Pharo Palace and transportation hubs, making it an ideal base for exploring Marseille. The hotel’s position, near restaurants, bars, shops and a nearby park with stunning harbor views, combines convenience, comfort and tranquil surroundings perfect for any type of stay.
Breakfast at the hotel is generally well-received, noted for its variety and quality with an extensive buffet featuring local and fresh products. A highlight is the breakfast terrace overlooking the harbor, although some guests feel that the breakfast is overpriced for the selection offered and lacks consistent quality in certain items.
Dining at the in-house Lebanese-themed restaurant garners positive remarks for its excellent, gourmet-quality food, generous portions and pleasant terrace by the pool. While the Lebanese cuisine is a hit, the restaurant's limited menu, early closing hours and lack of room service and vegetarian options are points of concern for some guests.
Rooms are frequently complimented for being spacious, clean and comfortable with several offering spectacular views of the harbor and city landscapes. The modern furnishings and calm environment contribute to a restful experience. The helpful and accommodating staff enhance guest satisfaction, despite minor issues with some rooms being outdated or inconsistencies in housekeeping.
Cleanliness is a strong point with most guests appreciating the well-maintained rooms and common areas. Despite occasional feedback about dusty surfaces or specific areas needing more attention, the hotel's general upkeep is praised.
The staff's friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness significantly contribute to the positive guest experiences. They are recognized for their efficiency and willingness to assist, creating a welcoming and courteous atmosphere, despite rare incidents where the service could be more consistent.
The hotel's free wifi receives mixed reviews, ranging from efficient and reliable in some areas to slow and unstable in others, especially on higher floors. Guests with work needs might find it subpar.
The pool area is highly valued by guests for its cleanliness, pleasant setting and lovely ambiance, although it can get crowded and the water temperature might be cold for some.
Proximity to beaches, especially Catalans Beach, adds to the hotel's appeal, allowing guests to enjoy leisurely seaside moments. The location provides the perfect balance between vibrant city life and serene beach relaxation.
For families, the hotel offers suitable accommodations with spacious rooms and a welcoming environment, though some aspects like air conditioning issues, parking concerns and occasional service lapses could affect the family experience.
Beds receive high marks for comfort with quality bedding and king-size options being a favorite among guests, albeit with some preferences differing regarding pillow softness and mattress firmness.
Despite its many commendable features, some guests feel that the hotel does not always meet the four-star standards in all aspects, specifically mentioning issues with maintenance and service coordination. Nevertheless, the welcoming staff, modern decor and strategic location make the "New Hotel of Marseille - Vieux Port" a strong choice for visitors.
