Hôtel ROSA - Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean offers a straightforward, no-fuss accommodation experience that aligns more closely with budget expectations than its claimed three-star rating. While the small rooms are noted for their comfort, guests often find the overall condition of the hotel dated with old carpets and poor-quality materials being a common concern. However, for travelers prioritizing cost-effectiveness, the hotel does provide decent value for money, particularly given its advantageous location.
The hotel lacks certain amenities that one might expect from a three-star establishment, such as an elevator and guests have commented on the insufficient ventilation and outdated facilities. Cleanliness is another area of concern with reports of dirty carpets and sheets, though the rooms themselves remain reasonably clean.
On the downside, the hotel staff have been described as unpleasant and the building's physical state leaves much to be desired—some even mentioning encounters with fleas. Despite these drawbacks, those looking for a simple, inexpensive place to stay, especially those needing secure storage for items like bicycles, may find BDX Hôtel a satisfactory option. However, it's clear the hotel does not consistently meet the standards typically associated with its star rating.
