Guests are enchanted by the fresh, clean air and the opportunity to engage in beautiful nature walks with the surrounding landscape frequently described as dreamlike and picturesque. The hotel's positioning is both ideal and accessible, striking a fine balance by being remote enough to provide peace and tranquility while still being conveniently close to ski slopes and accessible routes. The area itself is noted for its enchanting natural beauty with stunning scenery that includes green pastures and pastoral landscapes. In addition to the breathtaking views, Castelnor boasts excellent facilities that enhance the overall experience. The spa center is particularly highlighted for its quality, offering a range of services designed for ultimate relaxation. The restaurant menu also receives high marks, complementing the serene environment with fine dining. Castelnor's combination of a dreamlike location, superb spa amenities and excellent service makes it a standout destination in Romania. Whether for rest, relaxation or outdoor activities, this mountain retreat offers a compelling escape into nature's tranquility.

Breakfast

Guests consistently praised the breakfast at Castelnor, noting its high quality and variety. Many reviews highlighted the use of local products with terms like rich, tasty and delicious frequently mentioned. Diners appreciated the broad selection of food available, describing the breakfast as superb, fantastic and fabulous. Despite the overall positive feedback, some noted areas for improvement, including the need for more variety and quicker replenishment of fruits and vegetables. Occasionally, the breakfast service was altered due to the number of guests with some experiencing table service instead of the buffet. Negative comments were rare but included issues like noisy children, pancakes not being fresh and the presence of dead flies. However, the general consensus is that the breakfast at Castelnor is very good and diverse, offering a satisfying start to the day for most guests.

Dinner

At 'Castelnor,' dining experiences reveal mixed feelings among guests. A common highlight is the enjoyable and tasty food with some expressing delight over traditional regional dishes and a generally great menu. However, the dining experience comes at a premium price, often deemed excessively high in relation to the quality offered. Concerns about the freshness and overall quality of food surfaced with instances of moldy bread and subpar dishes like cold polenta and pasta not made to menu specifications. The service can be a hit or miss with some guests experiencing long wait times of up to two hours and others finding the restaurant crowded and noisy, particularly on weekends. Issues with the menu only being available in Romanian further complicated the dining experience for some guests. Despite these challenges, other guests were pleased with the broad selection during dinner and the presence of live music, which added to the ambiance. In summary, while 'Castelnor' has the potential to offer a satisfying dining experience with its tasty dishes and broad menu, there is significant room for improvement in terms of food quality, service efficiency and overall dining value for money.

Rooms

Castelnor's rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and elegant design with many guests highlighting their modern, well-equipped and beautifully furnished spaces. Visitors appreciate the spaciousness of many of the rooms, noting that they are sufficiently large and comfortable. The rooms also garner positive remarks for their comfortable beds and fantastic views, offering guests a pleasant and cozy stay. Despite these positives, some guests point out that room sizes can be inconsistent with a few describing them as small and not meeting the expectations for a 4-star hotel. Additionally, soundproofing issues are frequently mentioned with guests reporting disturbances from neighboring rooms. Temperature control also appears to be a common concern, as some rooms are described as too hot, especially during the night with the lack of air conditioning exacerbating the problem. Moreover, while the rooms are otherwise well-maintained, some reviews indicate minor issues such as unclean ashtrays and incomplete bathroom sets. Nonetheless, the majority of guest reviews reflect a satisfactory experience, emphasizing the attractive decoration, spaciousness and cleanliness of the rooms at Castelnor.

Beds

Castelnor has received mixed feedback regarding its beds from guests. Many guests praised the beds for being very comfortable with several specifically noting the double beds. However, pillows received less favorable comments with several reviewers finding them uncomfortable and of poor quality. There were also criticisms about the quality of some beds with a few guests mentioning that they found them too soft or generally uncomfortable. Additionally, some rooms were reported to become excessively warm, further affecting sleep quality. Another issue mentioned was the arrangement of double beds, which in some cases, comprised two smaller beds pushed together, creating an inconvenient gap in between.

Guests find the rooms to be very clean and well-maintained, often noting that consumables are regularly replenished. The hotel's overall organization and cleanliness meet the highest standards with some describing it as impeccable and deserving of the term super cleanliness. Despite the overwhelmingly positive remarks, a few reviews mentioned minor issues such as dirty cups not being taken away and occasional lapses in general clean-up. However, these critiques are exceptions rather than the rule. Most guests agree that the hotel is very clean, well-kept and newly maintained, creating a pleasant and sanitary environment. The hotel's attention to cleanliness and hygiene has left a positive impression on its visitors, making it a highly recommended choice for travelers seeking a pristine stay.

However, reviews also indicate some inconsistencies. While many guests have found the waitstaff in the restaurant kind and friendly, others have reported unprofessional and even rude behavior. It appears that the quality of service can vary depending on the department with some guests noting indifferent or inattentive attitudes, particularly in the spa and restaurant areas. Despite this, the overall consensus leans towards a positive experience with staff dedication and hospitality leaving a lasting impression.
