Situated close to the waterfront, central market and numerous major attractions, it offers guests convenient access to essential amenities, including shops, restaurants and public transportation. The central yet calm setting provides a peaceful retreat at night with the added benefit of free parking for those traveling by car.
The on-site restaurant stands out with its authentic Chinese and Korean cuisine, highly praised for its taste and value. Diners find the dim sum and other dishes delightful, although some mention a limited variety of Mauritian cuisine. Nevertheless, the restaurant is frequented for its superb food at reasonable prices, complementing the overall hospitable experience.
Rooms at Kirin Guesthouse are spacious, well-lit and clean, featuring large windows that offer stunning city or harbor views. Guests can enjoy amenities like fridges, kettles and daily room cleaning service. While some furnishings seem dated, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms, coupled with amenities like hot water and clean towels, provide a comfortable stay. Issues with room readiness at arrival are minor compared to the overall spaciousness and comfort.
The guesthouse receives high marks for its cleanliness with well-maintained rooms and general areas. The attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff contribute significantly to the clean environment. Staff members are commended for their friendliness, courtesy and willingness to assist with various needs, including flexible check-in and check-out times. The warm welcome from the reception team and their excellent service enhance the guest experience.
Kirin Guesthouse also provides excellent Wi-Fi service, ensuring guests stay connected with reliable and perfectly functioning internet. The bed comfort receives mixed reviews; while many find the mattresses and pillows comfortable, some guests note that certain beds are hard or old. Overall, the positive feedback on the bedding indicates a generally comfortable sleeping experience.
