Colony Inn in Anaheim offers an exceptional location, being situated directly across from Knott's Berry Farm and in close proximity to other attractions like Disneyland and Huntington Beach. This makes it an ideal choice for theme park enthusiasts and shopping aficionados who seek convenience without the hassle of parking fees. Guests appreciate the hotel's affordability, providing good value for those traveling on a budget.
The rooms are notably spacious and equipped with essentials such as refrigerators, microwaves, and flat-screen TVs, catering well to families and those planning extended stays. Although comfort is noted, the overall condition of the rooms leaves room for improvement, with frequent reports of cleanliness issues, including unpleasant odors, bedbugs, and dated furniture. Noise from thin walls and disturbances can affect sleep quality, and the cleanliness issues extend to communal areas, where maintenance concerns are prominent.
Staff interactions generally lean toward positive experiences, with many guests highlighting the friendly and helpful demeanor of the team, especially during check-in and check-out processes. However, some guests report inconsistencies in professionalism and attentiveness among staff members. Guests also benefit from free WiFi, although connectivity can be unpredictable, affecting online activities.
The pool offers a pleasant spot for relaxation, with some guests noting the clear water and calm atmosphere. However, reports of cleanliness issues, early closure times, and exposure to street noise detract from the experience. The parking situation is convenient due to free availability, especially for Knott's Berry Farm visitors, although congestion and a lack of organization sometimes lead to frustrations.
The beds at Colony Inn receive mixed reviews, with some guests finding them comfortable and clean, while others note issues with mattress firmness and pillow discomfort. Despite these challenges surrounding cleanliness and amenities, Colony Inn remains a popular choice due to its unbeatable location and affordability. Improvements in maintenance and cleanliness could significantly enhance the overall guest experience.

Diamond Inn presents itself as a strategically located hotel, catering effectively to travelers with a focus on practicality. It benefits from its proximity to the Sofi Stadium, making it appealing to sports enthusiasts and event-goers. The convenience of nearby dining, entertainment options, major freeways, and the Los Angeles International Airport enhances its appeal for short stays, whether for business or onward travel. The tranquil environment provides a peaceful respite for those seeking calm near the airport.
Guests frequently praise the spacious rooms, noting their generous size and high ceilings, which contribute to a comfortable experience. Certain rooms, like the jacuzzi suite, are highlighted for unique features such as surrounding mirrors, while some rooms are equipped with accessibility options like roll-in showers. The property's quiet nature enhances its appeal as a peaceful retreat.
However, the rooms receive mixed reviews due to signs of age, outdated furniture, and cleanliness issues. Guests have reported concerns such as dirty walls, bathrooms, stained blankets, and in extreme cases, encounters with bed bugs and cockroaches. Some discrepancies in room type reservations and inadequate facilities have been noted, suggesting a need for renovations and consistent upkeep to align with guest expectations.
Cleanliness at Diamond Inn receives varied feedback. While many guests commend the tidy and pleasant atmosphere, indicating clean, spacious, and comfortable rooms, inconsistencies in housekeeping standards are apparent. Some guests noted hair on beds and towels, unkempt bathrooms, and a general lack of cleanliness in certain areas. Despite these issues, the staff is recognized for their professionalism and accommodating nature, which enhances the overall guest experience. To maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, improvements in housekeeping practices are advisable.
