Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Extended Stay America Suites - Secaucus - New York City Area is highly rated for its advantageous location, providing easy access to major attractions like the American Dream Mall, MetLife Stadium and New York City, thanks to nearby NJ Transit bus services. The area is praised for its tranquility and a range of local shops and restaurants, contributing to a comfortable stay. In addition, guests highlight the hotel's strategic placement near highways and the North Bergen park and ride, along with commendations for the cleanliness of the hotel, further enhancing its appeal.
The rooms are frequently noted for their spaciousness and affordability, making the hotel a budget-friendly option. Guests appreciate the in-room amenities, including kitchenettes, refrigerators, microwaves and effective heating systems, which cater well to families or groups. The hotel’s beds are generally comfortable, though there are concerns about the condition of sofa beds which have been described as uncomfortable and worn out.
Staff interactions predominantly receive positive feedback with many guests acknowledging the friendly and helpful nature of the team. Specific staff members like Valentina have been singled out for their exceptional service, contributing positively to guest experiences despite occasional issues with short-staffing during peak times.
However, there are areas requiring improvement. The breakfast offering is minimalistic, often limited to pre-packaged muffins, granola bars and coffee, which has resulted in dissatisfaction among guests expecting a more substantial and varied selection. Cleanliness also remains a significant concern with numerous reports of dirty rooms, unclean sheets and pervasive unpleasant smells. Issues such as bed bugs, pet hair and insufficient housekeeping services have negatively impacted the hotel's hygiene reputation.
The Wi-Fi service has received mixed reviews; while free, it is not always reliable and some guests experienced the necessity of paying for extended usage. Additionally, complaints have been raised regarding outdated furniture and a lack of basic kitchen supplies, which detracts from the overall convenience of the in-room facilities.
In summary, Extended Stay America Suites - Secaucus - New York City Area offers a convenient location, spacious rooms with useful amenities and friendly staff. However, enhancements in breakfast variety, cleanliness standards and Wi-Fi reliability could significantly improve guest satisfaction.
