Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Extended Stay America Suites - Secaucus - New York City Area is highly rated for its advantageous location, providing easy access to major attractions like the American Dream Mall, MetLife Stadium and New York City, thanks to nearby NJ Transit bus services. The area is praised for its tranquility and a range of local shops and restaurants, contributing to a comfortable stay. In addition, guests highlight the hotel's strategic placement near highways and the North Bergen park and ride, along with commendations for the cleanliness of the hotel, further enhancing its appeal.
The rooms are frequently noted for their spaciousness and affordability, making the hotel a budget-friendly option. Guests appreciate the in-room amenities, including kitchenettes, refrigerators, microwaves and effective heating systems, which cater well to families or groups. The hotel’s beds are generally comfortable, though there are concerns about the condition of sofa beds which have been described as uncomfortable and worn out.
Staff interactions predominantly receive positive feedback with many guests acknowledging the friendly and helpful nature of the team. Specific staff members like Valentina have been singled out for their exceptional service, contributing positively to guest experiences despite occasional issues with short-staffing during peak times.
However, there are areas requiring improvement. The breakfast offering is minimalistic, often limited to pre-packaged muffins, granola bars and coffee, which has resulted in dissatisfaction among guests expecting a more substantial and varied selection. Cleanliness also remains a significant concern with numerous reports of dirty rooms, unclean sheets and pervasive unpleasant smells. Issues such as bed bugs, pet hair and insufficient housekeeping services have negatively impacted the hotel's hygiene reputation.
The Wi-Fi service has received mixed reviews; while free, it is not always reliable and some guests experienced the necessity of paying for extended usage. Additionally, complaints have been raised regarding outdated furniture and a lack of basic kitchen supplies, which detracts from the overall convenience of the in-room facilities.
In summary, Extended Stay America Suites - Secaucus - New York City Area offers a convenient location, spacious rooms with useful amenities and friendly staff. However, enhancements in breakfast variety, cleanliness standards and Wi-Fi reliability could significantly improve guest satisfaction.

Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park receives high praise primarily for its ideal and convenient location. Strategically positioned just a few blocks from Central Park and Broadway, the hotel offers easy access to pivotal attractions like Lincoln Center, Times Square and the theatre district. The proximity to dining options, shops, essential services and the efficient subway system enhances the New York experience. Despite its central location, the neighborhood remains quiet and peaceful, providing a comforting retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. This advantageous location allows guests to enjoy a pleasant stroll to many main attractions and museums, making it practical for sightseeing and event attendance.
Breakfast at the hotel is generally appreciated for its variety and the fact that it is complimentary. Guests value the hearty selection, vegetarian options and both hot and cold dishes. However, the breakfast area can get crowded during peak times and some reviews mention the repetitive menu and logistical issues like long queues and limited seating. While the use of disposable dishes and cutlery is seen as wasteful, the convenience of a complimentary breakfast adds value to the stay.
The rooms at Fairfield Inn & Suites are noted for their cleanliness, modern decor and comfort. Guests highlight the comfortable beds and impressive city views. Although the rooms are relatively small, a characteristic typical of New York City hotels, they remain functional and well-maintained. Some minor issues with noise from air conditioning and neighboring buildings are reported, along with occasional lapses in housekeeping services.
The hotel stands out for its cleanliness with guests frequently commenting on the well-maintained rooms and public areas. The cleaning staff is described as friendly and attentive, ensuring an inviting environment.
The staff receives consistent praise for their exceptional service, marked by friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism. Guests often recount positive interactions with the front desk personnel, who are noted for their efficiency and willingness to assist. The overall warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the staff is a particular highlight.
The hotel offers reliable free Wi-Fi, appreciated by guests for its high-speed connectivity, despite the occasional need to reconnect daily.
Comfortable beds contribute significantly to the overall guest experience with many complimenting the quality and cleanliness of the bedding, enabling a restful sleep.
As a three-star hotel, guests should adjust their expectations accordingly. Despite some drawbacks such as small rooms, lagging housekeeping efforts, cold breakfasts and slow elevators, the hotel’s location, along with reasonable pricing, makes it a practical choice. However, the overall quality of facilities and services aligns with typical three-star standards.
For business travelers, the hotel's prime location is beneficial, though the absence of robust business facilities and some limitations in meeting space might pose challenges.
In terms of accessibility, the hotel offers ADA rooms and a welcoming staff, though improvements could be made, such as addressing issues with accessible showers and the lack of a service elevator.
In summary, the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Central Park offers a central, convenient base with clean, modern rooms, comfortable beds and exceptional service. While there are areas for improvement, its strategic location and overall positive atmosphere make it a favored choice for exploring New York City.
