Nestled on the outskirts of San Sebastián, Pension MD offers a no-frills accommodation option for travelers seeking budget-friendly lodging. Though officially rated as a 1-star guesthouse, its recent renovations have breathed new life into its rooms, providing guests with clean, tidy, and well-kept spaces. The pension is part of a cluster of buildings known as Arriberri, and while it might lack certain luxuries and amenities such as a reception, it compensates with a cozy atmosphere.
Despite its economical positioning among San Sebastián hotels, rates can seem high for the minimalist offering, with prices upwards of €85 to €100 per night, which some reviewers have deemed excessive given the limited space and location 5 km away from the city center. Still, for those prioritizing cleanliness and simple comfort over opulence and proximity to the city's main attractions, Pension MD serves as a practical option.

Nestled in the bustling heart of San Sebastian, the San Juan Guesthouse offers affordable accommodation, significantly cheaper than many hotels in the area. Its central location makes it a convenient option for travelers eager to explore the city's vibrant surroundings. However, potential guests should be aware that the guesthouse occupies a modest third-floor space with no elevator access, which might challenge those carrying heavy luggage or staying for extended periods. Noise from both the street and other rooms can be a concern due to the lack of soundproofing, and some visitors have noted the room furnishings and facilities could use more attention, indicating signs of wear and cleanliness issues. Although traditional reception services are absent, communication through WhatsApp is the primary means of addressing any issues, although it may not always be the most efficient. Overall, the San Juan Guesthouse may attract budget-conscious travelers who value location over luxury and don't mind compromising on certain comforts.
