The Westin Great Southern Columbus is a great choice for those looking for a centrally located hotel in downtown Columbus. The hotel is housed in a beautiful historical building and is easily accessible from the interstate. Guests can explore the walkable area and enjoy the green space just across the street. The hotel is also the perfect base for attending events such as the Jazz and Rib Fest and concerts at the nearby arena. While some guests had negative experiences with the staff, the majority of reviewers speak highly of the friendly and helpful staff. The hotel's front desk staff were described as professional, helpful and friendly, willing to assist with all needs. The lobby was described as beautiful and the valet service received high praise for their polite and courteous service. The rooms are clean and modern with beautiful views of the city streets, although some guests complained about the size of the standard rooms and uncomfortable beds. However, they were upgraded to larger rooms or they had the option to book a larger executive "suite". Cleanliness is clearly a top priority at this hotel with reviewers praising how clean everything from the rooms to the hotel overall is. The hotel offers a standard breakfast or a $10 buffet with options such as eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes with vegetables, although some guests were disappointed with the lack of access to food due to COVID-19 restrictions and high prices for the limited options offered. Overall, The Westin Great Southern Columbus is a solid choice for those looking for a clean and comfortable stay in Columbus.
