Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Austin Motor Inn is generally appreciated for its highly advantageous location in Austin, offering easy access from I-35 and proximity to convenient stores and various venues. This affordability and abundance of parking space make it a practical choice for budget travelers.
The rooms are often highlighted for their cleanliness with daily cleaning services ensuring they remain very clean and free of bugs. Guests commend features like Netflix on TVs and effective air conditioning, leading to a quiet and comfortable stay. Though basic, the rooms are described as suitable for travelers seeking simple accommodations. The suite offers a more spacious and apartment-like experience, providing a comfortable stay for some visitors.
Despite these positive aspects, some areas require improvement, such as dated decor and occasional issues with room fixtures like showers. Cleanliness is a mixed bag with reports of stained and cigarette-burned bed sheets, dirty floors and walls and unpleasant odors, particularly from tobacco. Maintenance and overall upkeep also draw criticism, including worn furnishings and an unkempt exterior environment.
Staff interactions receive a mix of feedback, though many guests note the friendliness and helpfulness of the team, particularly staff member Tammie. Positive guest interactions during check-in and check-out contribute to a generally great customer service experience.
The wifi service exhibits inconsistency, appreciated by some but plagued by reliability issues and occasional technical concerns. This, combined with an absence of clearly posted wifi details, suggests room for improvement.
Beds also elicit mixed reviews. While some guests find them comfortable, concerns about hard, old and lumpy mattresses, along with issues like stained linens, signal a need for better quality control to ensure a comfortable sleep.
Overall, Austin Motor Inn serves as a cost-effective, accessible lodging option with friendly staff and clean, albeit basic, accommodations that suit budget-conscious travelers. Improvements in maintenance, cleanliness and amenities could enhance the guest experience.

Super 8 by Wyndham Austin/Airport South stands out for its highly praised location, which is particularly convenient for travelers given its proximity to the airport and easy access to downtown Austin and the freeway. The beautiful surroundings and availability of fast food options next door add to the convenience, complemented by the provision of spacious rooms and a free airport shuttle service.
Guests' experiences with the breakfast have been mixed with some appreciating the availability of items like waffles, yogurt and apple juice, but many others finding it minimal and disappointing. The lack of variety and the early end time of 9 AM were consistent points of dissatisfaction.
When it comes to the rooms, many guests enjoyed the spaciousness and found them to be comfortable and clean. The addition of amenities like a fridge, microwave and in some cases, a jacuzzi tub added to the comfort. However, there were issues reported as well, such as dated appearances, dirty carpets, moldy smells and occasional non-functional amenities. Bed bugs were also a concern for a few guests with room maintenance variability noted across the hotel.
Cleanliness was another area with mixed reviews. While many guests praised the hotel for being very clean and comfortable, others faced issues such as bad odors, dust, hair in bathtubs and sightings of roaches. Reports of outdated decor and maintenance issues such as burn holes, peeling paint and low water pressure were also common.
Staff behavior drew mixed feedback with many guests appreciating their friendliness and helpfulness, particularly individuals like Kurt at the front desk. Yet, there were also reports of unprofessionalism, lack of attentiveness and poor communication, which sometimes made guests feel unwelcome.
The beds were frequently highlighted for their comfort, size and overall positive experience, though a few guests noted issues with bed placement and height and some encountered bed bugs, which significantly impacted their stay.
