Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Grafenwirt has received a plethora of positive reviews, especially regarding its prime location and welcoming atmosphere. Situated in the heart of Wagrain, the hotel is ideally close to bars, restaurants, shops and ski facilities, making it an excellent base for exploration. The proximity to attractions like Liechtensteinklamm, GrossGlockner, the Ice Cave and Kaprun water reservoir further elevates its appeal. Guests appreciate the cozy and quiet environment despite its central location, contributing to overall value and convenience for both short and extended stays.
The breakfast offerings at Hotel Grafenwirt are highly regarded, described as very good, extensive and abundant. Guests particularly enjoy the variety of fresh items and the friendly staff who ensure a pleasant atmosphere. Breakfast being included in the room price adds to the value, although some have mentioned the occasional lack of variety or specific items like eggs or hot sausages.
Dinner experiences at the hotel are mixed. While the pub is praised for its atmosphere and fair prices, the hotel lacks a restaurant, which some guests find disappointing. During the off-season, the restaurant is closed and a few reviews noted issues with food quality and service, recommending nearby dining options instead.
The hotel rooms receive mixed feedback. Positively, they are often described as clean, spacious and well-equipped with essential amenities. Many guests find the furnishings comfortable and fitting for the area's rustic charm. However, some guests noted that certain rooms could be small and there have been occasional issues with cleanliness and maintenance.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel is generally praised with many guests highlighting the tidy and well-maintained environment. The efficiency of the heating system and the neatness of the establishment contribute to a cozy stay, although there are sporadic mentions of mold in bathrooms and some cleaning mishaps.
The staff at Hotel Grafenwirt consistently earn high praise for their friendliness, attentiveness and helpfulness. They go above and beyond in ensuring guests' needs are met, creating a warm and welcoming environment. Guests specifically mention the exceptional service from individuals like Tina and a Danish hostess.
However, the Wi-Fi service at Hotel Grafenwirt is a common source of frustration with many guests experiencing weak signals, non-functional passwords and unreliable connectivity, particularly on higher floors.
Parking, while convenient with an on-site lot, comes with a fee of €5 per day, which some guests consider manageable and good value, though others wish it were complimentary.
The hotel is also family-friendly, providing a cozy atmosphere perfect for family vacations. Amenities such as a playroom for children and a ski storage area enhance the family-oriented experience, despite the desire for more communal seating in the evenings.
For ski enthusiasts, Hotel Grafenwirt's location is exceptional. Just 100 meters from the ski bus stop, it provides easy access to the Grafenberg cable car with practical amenities like a ski boots drying room heightening the appeal.
Regarding the beds, reviews are mixed. Many guests found the beds comfortable, but there are complaints about softness, sagging mattresses, noisy beds and inadequate extra beds or travel cots.
In summary, Hotel Grafenwirt is highly praised for its excellent location, friendly staff and good value offerings, particularly in terms of breakfast and family-friendliness. However, improvements could be made in dining options, Wi-Fi service and room maintenance to fully satisfy all guests.
