Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Hotel Olivia, nestled in the heart of Nogales, is highly praised for its prime location. Strategically situated within a central area, it provides remarkable convenience for tourists and travelers, offering easy access to various activities and being just a five-minute walk from the US border. The surrounding area is filled with shops, restaurants and attractions that enhance the travel experience, making it an appealing spot for both short and extended stays. Guests often commend the safety and comfort of the area, alongside the friendly staff and clean premises, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages return visits.
The cleanliness of Hotel Olivia is frequently highlighted by guests with consistent remarks about the well-maintained and immaculate rooms. Despite the dated ambiance of the facilities, the emphasis on cleanliness is evident with daily cleaning services that ensure tidy and hygienic accommodations. Details such as clean bedspreads, pillows and curtains contribute to the overall clean impression, making guests feel comfortable and at ease.
The staff at Hotel Olivia stands out for their friendliness and helpfulness. The front desk team, particularly individuals like Jorge and Tanya, receive notable praise for their attentiveness, kindness and polite demeanor. Guests appreciate the good service and the honest, welcoming nature of the personnel, which significantly enhances the overall experience. Although there was an isolated incident of a receptionist not respecting reservations, the majority of interactions reflect a high standard of customer service.
Hotel Olivia also offers secure parking facilities, providing peace of mind to guests regarding vehicle safety. While the parking area is relatively small and can sometimes be full, requiring guests to check availability, the secure and closed parking option is generally appreciated when spaces are available.
For families, Hotel Olivia is noted as a safe and comfortable environment, making it an excellent choice for travelers with children. Despite occasional disturbances caused by noisy children in common areas, the hotel's hospitality towards families and its safe location are well-regarded.
However, there are areas where Hotel Olivia could improve. Mixed reviews about the rooms highlight issues such as persistent odors, noise from the surroundings, basic security features and occasional maintenance problems. The bed quality also varies with some guests finding the beds uncomfortable, lumpy and noisy, suggesting a need for upgrades.
In summary, Hotel Olivia excels in location, cleanliness and staff friendliness, creating a welcoming environment for travelers. While there are some areas for improvement, particularly in room maintenance and bed quality, the hotel remains a solid choice for those seeking a convenient and family-friendly place to stay in Nogales.
