Location

The Kona Kai Resort & Spa, a Noble House Resort, is a beautiful property located on Shelter Island, right on the bay with amazing views. Guests absolutely adore the location, which is pet-friendly and offers access to the marina. The pools are wonderful and the resort has a very resorty feel with excellent service. The bars, Vessel restaurant, patio, private beach and the ability to watch seagulls are just some of the many things that guests loved about the location. The rooms are centrally located and offer quick walking distance to everything. Overall, the location of the Kona Kai Resort & Spa is perfect for those looking for a great stay near downtown.

Rooms

The Kona Kai Resort & Spa, a Noble House Resort offers comfortable accommodations in their new wing with plush beds and the option of a garden view or parking lot view room. The rooms are well-equipped with water bottles provided and a coffee machine, although room service wasn't offered during our stay. Some minor maintenance issues were noted, such as a broken toilet paper holder and a bathroom door that slides open, but overall the rooms were very clean and recently redone. Guest opinions were mixed with some saying the rooms were tiny while others loved the colors and decor. A few minor inconveniences, such as unclear directions to the room or items left by previous occupants, were mentioned. The best views are from the rooms overlooking the marina, but even the basic rooms had a nice view. The location of the property is amazing with a great first floor garden view and a beautiful, quiet atmosphere.

Management was especially praised for their ability to accommodate guests' needs, such as providing a late check-out. Guests also appreciated the service of specific individuals, such as Sal who upgraded their room and comp'd their parking and Brittney who made sure all their needs were taken care of. In addition to exceptional service, guests consistently mentioned how friendly, helpful and accommodating the staff were throughout the resort. The lady who checked them in even made them feel very welcome and attended to all their needs. All in all, Kona Kai Resort & Spa boasts great customer service with a very friendly and accommodating staff.

Pool

Looking for a tropical paradise to relax in and soak up the sun? Look no further than Kona Kai Resort & Spa! Guests rave about the amazing pool with many calling it the best part of their stay. The pool is well-maintained with lounge chairs that are comfortable and a heated pool that is perfect for taking a dip even on a cooler day. While some guests wished for umbrellas around the pool, others enjoyed cabanas or the over-21 pool area. Additionally, the resort seems to take health and safety very seriously with proper PPE and temperature-taking measures. One happy guest even raved about the service with a staff member checking on them and seeing to every need. However, reviews do report that pool staff could be improved with guests sometimes running out of towels. Additionally, while the beach area and firepits are lovely, the pool area unfortunately closes earlier than some guests would like. Overall, though, guests adore the pool and all it has to offer.
