Hostal Virreinal AQP receives praise for its comfortable rooms and beds, which provide a restful experience with soft mattresses and pillows. Its 24-hour reception is a convenient feature for guests, ensuring assistance is available at any time. The hotel boasts a prime, quiet location, making it an appealing choice for those seeking a peaceful retreat in the area.
While the staff is noted for their attentiveness, there are mixed experiences with the friendliness of the reception team. The breakfast could be improved with a more varied selection, such as adding fruits and more eggs, to enhance the morning dining experience.
Guests mention a concern with the bathrooms, as they can develop an unpleasant odor if the door is left closed overnight. Despite this, the overall stay offers a good price-quality ratio, making it a viable option for travelers looking for affordability and comfort.

Las Mercedes, a large hotel conveniently located near a highway off-ramp, offers a secure environment for its guests with measures in place to ensure safety. The property, while slightly removed from the city center, benefits from being just a short distance away, making it accessible to local attractions.
The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building with a well-preserved antique design, providing a glimpse of old-world charm. However, the structure and facilities show significant signs of aging and would greatly benefit from a renovation to improve the overall ambiance and comfort of the rooms.
Visitors appreciate the helpful nature of the owners who go out of their way to offer viable options for reaching destinations, especially during local festivals that might affect road accessibility. The staff generally provide good attention and treatment, although experiences with them can vary.
The breakfast is a notable area for improvement, as guests have found it lacking in variety and quality. Despite these challenges, Las Mercedes holds potential for guests looking to appreciate historical architecture and a strategic location in Arequipa.
