Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
La Quinta by Wyndham Islip - MacArthur Airport receives commendations primarily for its exceptional location and friendly staff, making it a favored choice for travelers, particularly those requiring easy access to the nearby airport. The hotel's central positioning not only facilitates convenient travel but also provides a safe, accessible environment suitable for various purposes, including attending family events and accessing local attractions. Guests appreciate amenities like 24-hour coffee and tea, which enhance the experience.
Reviews of the breakfast offerings are mixed with many guests finding the area clean and noting the availability of daily newspapers. However, the lack of variety and absence of hot items have left some guests wanting more from their morning meal. The feedback suggests the need for broader and better-maintained breakfast options.
Rooms at the hotel receive mixed feedback. While many guests appreciate their spaciousness, initial cleanliness and the comfort of the beds and pillows, others have pointed out the need for significant updates. Reports of outdated decor, dirty carpets, musty smells and maintenance issues such as worn-out bathtubs and malfunctioning air conditioners suggest that improvements are needed to meet guests' expectations consistently.
Cleanliness is another area with varied reviews. Although the hotel staff is praised for their friendliness and diligence, some guests have experienced cleanliness issues in individual rooms and common areas, indicating a need for better upkeep. Persistent problems such as musty odors, dirty carpets and poorly maintained outdoor areas have been noted repeatedly.
The staff at La Quinta by Wyndham Islip - MacArthur Airport receive high praise for their welcoming, accommodating and professional demeanor. Specific employees, like Pam and Miguel, have been frequently mentioned for their exceptional service. Despite occasional reports of less attentive service, the overall sentiment emphasizes the staff's positive impact on the guest experience.
While the hotel offers free WiFi, the reliability of the internet connection varies with some guests reporting satisfactory speeds and others encountering slow or sporadic connectivity. Similarly, the comfort of the beds has people divided; some find them clean and cozy, while others encounter issues with outdated mattresses and broken frames.
As a three-star establishment, La Quinta by Wyndham Islip - MacArthur Airport is recognized for its good value, clean environment and friendly service. However, the dated nature of its facilities and specific maintenance problems suggest that it falls short of fully meeting the expected standards of its rating.
The hotel's pet-friendly policies are a notable highlight with guests appreciating the dedicated pet walking area and the accommodation of dogs in rooms. This feature, along with the convenient location and friendly staff, makes it an appealing option for travelers with pets seeking both comfort and pet-friendly amenities.
