Hotel De Ploeg stands out for its prime location near Hasselt, making it highly convenient for guests attending events, exploring the city or engaging in cycling trips. Guests describe the buffet as tasty, extensive and delicious with fresh products and a variety of items like fruit, yogurt, cheese, cold cuts and baked goods. The breakfast staff adds to the positive experience with their friendliness and efficiency, though a few guests found the choices somewhat limited.
Dinner at the hotel is also highly recommended with guests commending the delicious, homemade dishes and extensive à la carte menu. The cozy atmosphere, generous portion sizes and friendly staff contribute to a pleasant dining experience. While some reports mention long wait times for dinner, the quality of the food generally overshadows this minor inconvenience.

While some guests appreciate the cleanliness, comfort and charm of the rooms, others note that the accommodations are outdated and in need of renovation. Issues such as lack of air conditioning, noise isolation and small bathroom areas are common complaints. However, the hotel's hygiene standards are frequently praised, indicating a focus on cleanliness despite some maintenance shortcomings.
Cleanliness in general receives mixed feedback. While some rooms are described as clean, multiple reviews highlight issues with dust, mold and outdated fixtures. These consistent critiques suggest that the hotel could benefit from improved cleaning procedures.
