La Quinta by Wyndham Milwaukee Bayshore Area offers a location that receives high praise for its convenience and accessibility. Positioned close to the interstate, guests find it easy to reach various destinations. The area surrounding the hotel includes numerous shopping centers, like Bayshore Mall, a diverse array of restaurants and stores, adding to the guests' overall convenience. The proximity to attractions and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee further enhances its appeal, making it a suitable choice for different types of visitors. An adjacent Walgreens emphasizes the accessibility to essential items and the nearby food vendors and shops contribute positively to the guest experience.
The breakfast experience at the hotel has received mixed reviews. Some guests appreciate the simplicity and cleanliness of the breakfast area, along with the satisfactory range of options available. However, many have criticized the limited variety and quality. Concerns about cleanliness, lack of replenishment and the absence of items like fruit and yogurt have been commonly reported, suggesting there is room for improvement.
Rooms at the hotel are generally spacious, providing ample space for guests. Some feature convenient kitchenette counters and positive feedback includes clean and well-sized showers. Nevertheless, multiple reports indicate significant issues with cleanliness and maintenance, such as dirty carpets, stained furniture and unresponsive management. Safety concerns and functional problems, including broken TVs and unpleasant odors, have also been noted, detracting from the overall guest experience.
Cleanliness across the hotel is a major concerning factor based on guest reviews. Many have highlighted dirty surfaces, stained carpets and furniture and even unpleasant findings like unclean bedding and unusual substances in rooms. The general maintenance and sanitation, both inside and outside the hotel, have been called into question with mentions of a neglected look and unsanitary conditions adding to the feeling of discomfort.
The hotel staff, however, stands out as a significant positive aspect for La Quinta by Wyndham Milwaukee Bayshore Area. Visitors frequently commend the staff's friendliness, helpfulness and professionalism, particularly mentioning Krishna, an assistant manager, who is noted for exemplary service. While isolated instances of unprofessional behavior are reported, these seem to be rare exceptions.
The pool at the hotel is a point of considerable dissatisfaction, frequently reported as closed or unavailable, often without prior notice. Some guests mentioned the pool being unmaintained since the onset of COVID-19, which, coupled with other cleanliness issues, has detracted from the guest experience.
Opinions on the beds are mixed. Many guests find the beds comfortable and conducive to a good night's rest with some describing them as very comfortable. Conversely, recurring issues include old or sunken beds, stained sheets and problems with pull-out beds, prompting a need for consistency in bed quality.
In summary, while La Quinta by Wyndham Milwaukee Bayshore Area garners praise for its convenient location and commendable staff, issues with cleanliness, room maintenance and amenities like the pool highlight significant areas needing improvement.
