Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center enjoys high praise for its superb downtown location, particularly from business travelers attending conferences at the nearby convention center. The hotel's advantageous positioning near attractions like US Bank Stadium, Target Field and Orchestra Hall adds to its appeal, making it an ideal base for both leisure and business visitors. Guests highlight the ease of exploring local dining and nightlife options within walking distance, contributing to a well-rounded urban experience.
Breakfast receives mixed reviews; while the quality and service are commended, guests are often disappointed by the lack of complimentary options and high costs. Similarly, the absence of onsite dining for dinner and lunch inconveniences guests, who must look elsewhere for meals. This shortfall is particularly troublesome during busy times, impacting the overall dining experience.
Room reviews are polarized with positive remarks about spaciousness, comfort and city views countered by complaints about cleanliness and maintenance issues. Surprisingly, despite some inconsistencies, many guests still find their accommodations satisfactory, attributing enjoyable stays to the hotel's friendly and helpful staff.
The cleanliness of Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center presents a split narrative: many guests appreciate the clean rooms and public areas, while others point out sporadic cleaning services and outdated features. Despite occasional mentions of unpleasant odors and bed bugs, the hotel strives to maintain a generally clean environment with responsive housekeeping.
Staff interactions at Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center elicit mixed feedback. While many guests speak highly of the friendly and professional front desk and security staff who enhance the welcoming atmosphere, reports of unprofessional and indifferent behavior, particularly during check-in, suggest inconsistency in customer service quality.
WiFi services prove to be a major pain point with guests frequently reporting unreliable or non-functioning connections in rooms. These challenges diminish the guest experience, especially for those who rely on robust internet access for business purposes. Parking is another problematic aspect with high fees, ongoing construction and safety concerns detracting from the overall convenience.
The hotel’s bed quality garners mixed reactions. Although many find the beds comfortable with clean linens, issues with bed firmness and pillow quality occasionally detract from comfort. Despite these shortcomings, the positive aspects of room amenities help many guests enjoy restful nights.
Four-star expectations are somewhat met with the hotel’s modern feel and appealing lobby, though some facilities like the pool and sauna fall short. Business travelers appreciate the professional environment, although connectivity and minor room inconveniences pose challenges. The hotel's accessibility to important venues and overall convenience still make it a favored choice for corporate guests.
Overall, Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center offers a satisfying stay primarily due to its excellent location, friendly staff and modern amenities, although inconsistencies in cleaning, dining and service quality highlight areas for improvement.
