Hótel Dyrhólaey offers a scenic and convenient option for travelers seeking a mid-market, three-star hotel experience in Iceland. Though isolated, the hotel provides an unbeatable view from its restaurant, making it a picturesque spot, especially for those on a round trip. Guests will find the amenities and services to be adequate, featuring simple but well-stocked facilities, clean accommodations and a dining area that serves a typical European breakfast with an extensive selection of hot and cold food.
The hotel has a practical and comfortable vibe, though many noted that the decor and furnishings are somewhat dated and in need of modernization. Nonetheless, the cleanliness and functionality of the rooms receive positive mentions, ensuring a cozy stay albeit with basic amenities.
The large and slightly industrial structure is built to cater to groups, leading to a busy atmosphere particularly during breakfast. Despite its crowded nature, the hotel maintains a good value for money and is considered a good option for travelers with cars due to its large parking area.
While some guests felt the service and facilities could benefit from enhancements and found the food to be average in quality, the overall experience aligns with the expectation of a three-star international standard hotel. For those willing to overlook the dated interiors and seek a cost-effective, practical lodging with beautiful external views, Hótel Dyrhólaey remains a charming and decent choice.
