Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa offers its guests a serene retreat with stunning views of Mauritius' natural splendor. Nestled away from the more tourist-heavy areas, the hotel provides an authentic and tranquil experience, enhanced by a private beach perfect for relaxing and engaging in activities like snorkeling and kayaking. The location serves as an excellent base for exploring nearby landmarks, though its remoteness requires transportation to access broader island attractions.
The breakfast at the hotel receives commendations for its hearty options, including freshly made omelettes and pancakes, though there's a need for improved variety, especially for vegetarians and long-stay guests. The dining experience at dinnertime is delightful, with themed evenings and a notable local cuisine that pleases many palates, complemented by friendly service that enhances the overall enjoyment.
Guests admire the spacious and clean rooms, with many featuring balconies that offer spectacular views of the ocean or pool. While some rooms show signs of aging, the maintenance, combined with attentive service from the staff, ensures a comfortable stay. The overall cleanliness throughout the hotel is praised, reflecting a commitment to guest satisfaction.
Service at Laguna Beach Hotel & Spa stands out as exceptional, with a dedicated staff known for their warmth and attentive nature. Special mentions go to team members who consistently enhance the guest experience with their friendly demeanor and professionalism.
While the complimentary Wi-Fi could be improved, particularly in the rooms, the public areas like the restaurant maintain better connectivity. The pool area, featuring an infinity pool with breathtaking views, remains a highlight, offering a serene environment to unwind. The beach, although not the pristine paradise of typical Mauritian shores, provides a serene setting for relaxation.
Families find the hotel welcoming, with amenities catering to young children, although the lack of a maintained kids' club is noted. The hotel earns praise as a suitable destination for peaceful family retreats. Beds offer a mix of comfort, with quality bedding enhancing the experience for most visitors, despite occasional critiques.

The gym at the Holiday Inn Mauritius Mon Trésor by IHG receives positive remarks from guests, highlighting it as a well-equipped facility despite its relatively small size. Equipped with a range of exercise options, the gym provides a rower, bike, treadmill, and a weight bench, including some dumbbells and machines for both flat and incline exercises. The fitness center’s amenities are complemented by the hotel’s excellent pool and spa facilities. Though some mention that the gym can be noisy and is on the smaller side, it is viewed as a valuable and complimentary service that enhances the overall stay experience for fitness enthusiasts.
