Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
The Garland receives widespread acclaim for its strategic location and accessibility, especially for those visiting Universal Studios and other popular Los Angeles attractions. The free shuttle service to these sites adds convenience, while the lush, serene environment provides a peaceful retreat amidst the city's hustle and bustle. Despite some occasional noise from the nearby highway, the overall setting is praised for its tranquility and beauty, making it a practical and pleasant stay for tourists.
The hotel's breakfast offerings at The Front Yard are generally well-received with guests highlighting the quality and variety of food. However, service can be slow and some find the prices high and the menu limited, particularly for vegan options. For dinner, The Front Yard excels, earning high marks for its delicious food and inviting ambiance. Both the breakfast and dinner experiences are enhanced by attentive service and a beautifully designed setting, contributing to a memorable culinary journey.
Rooms at The Garland combine vintage Hollywood charm with modern amenities, often appreciated for their cleanliness, spaciousness and stylish decor. While some guests point out issues like noise and occasional maintenance problems, most find the rooms comfortable and well-equipped, making them suitable for families. The overall cleanliness of the property, from the rooms to the public spaces, is a standout feature, consistently noted by guests.
The staff at The Garland are frequently praised for their friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness, enhancing the overall guest experience. Whether at the reception, bar or restaurant, the staff's dedication to service is a key positive aspect, although a few isolated instances of less stellar service are reported.
Wi-Fi at The Garland receives mixed feedback. While some guests find it excellent and fast, others experience connectivity issues, suggesting a need for improvement. The gym, on the other hand, is highly regarded for its modern equipment, cleanliness and 24/7 accessibility, offering a well-rounded fitness experience.
The pool area is a highlight, especially for families with its clean and inviting environment, heated pool and entertaining movie nights. The convenience of poolside dining and the additional relaxation features like the hot tub also add to the positive reviews. However, some guests find the pool area slightly small for the hotel's size.
Parking is a contentious issue due to its high cost, though the convenience and security of the parking facilities are noted. The complimentary shuttle service to Universal Studios somewhat mitigates the parking fees, making the hotel a convenient base for theme park visits.
Overall, The Garland stands out for its excellent location, family-friendly atmosphere, commendable cleanliness and exemplary staff service, making it a favored choice for travelers visiting Los Angeles, especially those planning visits to Universal Studios.
