The Áurea Palacio de Sober by Eurostars Hotel Company is an exquisitely restored manor situated in the tranquil and scenic Ribeira Sacra region, making it an ideal base for exploring local attractions such as the Sil and Miño canyons. The hotel's blend of historical charm and modern amenities, along with its magnificent gardens, serene atmosphere and tasteful decor, creates a peaceful and refined retreat. Guests appreciate the convenient shaded parking and the breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, which contribute to the hotel’s allure.
The rooms are highly praised for their spaciousness, comfort, cleanliness and delightful decor. Many rooms offer fantastic views, adding to the overall experience. While there are occasional remarks about room discrepancies or mattress comfort, the general sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing the rooms as a standout feature.
Breakfast at the hotel is celebrated for its quality, variety and abundance with numerous compliments on the fresh local products and gluten-free options. The breakfast setting enhances the experience, although occasional service disruptions or minor quality issues with pastries have been noted. Nonetheless, the overall breakfast offering is excellent and aligns well with the hotel's high standards.
Dinner at the hotel's restaurant offers a generally positive experience. Guests commend the sensational taste and value for money with many singling out Chef Diego's creations. Despite this, there are some service delays and difficulties securing reservations due to staff shortages and operational constraints. The limited seating and reservation-only policy can be frustrating, yet the quality of the meals and the dining ambiance remain remarkable.
Cleanliness is a key strength of the hotel with guests frequently commenting on the immaculate condition of both the rooms and common areas. The well-maintained movie-like gardens further enhance the overall positive experience. Minor issues, such as barely visible cobwebs, do not detract from the general high standard of cleanliness.
The staff at Áurea Palacio de Sober are noted for their exceptional friendliness, professionalism and attentiveness. Individuals such as Miguel, Lua and Laura are often highlighted for their exceptional service, contributing to the family-like and welcoming atmosphere. The staff's dedication greatly enhances the guest experience.
Amenities such as the spa and pool are highly regarded. The spa offers an intimate and serene experience with private use by room, while the beautiful, clean pool area is perfect for relaxation. Some minor issues, such as limited hammocks by the pool or occasional maintenance problems in the spa, are noted but do not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment.
However, the hotel's WiFi connectivity poses a significant challenge with guests reporting poor coverage and slow speeds. This consistent lack of reliable internet access is a notable downside.
Despite a few shortcomings related to service efficiency and WiFi, Áurea Palacio de Sober excels in providing a luxurious, comfortable and elegant experience, making it a top choice for travelers seeking tranquility and sophistication in the Ribeira Sacra region.
