Situated near Portland's Lloyd District, it offers easy access to key venues such as the Oregon Convention Center and Moda Center, and is favored for its proximity to public transport, facilitating exploration of downtown Portland and its attractions. Guests praise the hotel's clean and well-maintained facilities, complemented by pleasant and helpful staff, and enjoy the scenic views of downtown and the nearby mountains.
The breakfast experience at the hotel is highly appreciated for its quality and variety, with a buffet that caters to diverse tastes and stand-out dishes like French toast and Chicken Fried steak. Guests benefit from attentive service during breakfast, enhancing their dining experience. Although some confusion exists around breakfast charges and the absence of certain room amenities, including mini-fridges and microwaves, the convenient in-hotel coffee shop further adds to the dining ease.
The dining experience continues to please guests with delightful offerings at the hotel's restaurants, such as blackened salmon and shrimp, although some noted average tastes in certain dishes. The restaurant staff's exceptional service and the ambiance created by the pleasant bar area enhance guests' overall experience, even though dining hours could be more accommodating.
Rooms are frequently noted for their spaciousness and cleanliness, with travelers appreciating the comfort and quiet atmosphere along with the scenic views from balconies. Access to modern amenities like Netflix via in-room TVs is an added convenience. While there are occasional instances of maintenance issues and discrepancies in room sizes, the general sentiment remains positive, with guests finding the accommodations pleasant and fitting for a convenient stay.
Guests consistently highlight the hotel's cleanliness, with rooms being spacious and tidy. Though some areas require improvements in deeper cleaning, the overall standards are favorably received by visitors. The staff stand out for their exceptional friendliness and helpfulness, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere and a hassle-free stay, even if there are minor instances of less enthusiastic service.
Parking at the hotel presents a mixed experience, with the secure and spacious garage appreciated but concerns over high parking fees dampening some guests' experience. Nonetheless, the safe and clean parking facilities contribute positively to overall comfort.
Families find the hotel welcoming, with clean rooms and a pool appealing to those traveling with children, despite the absence of a children's play area or connecting rooms. Beds are largely praised for their comfort, contributing to restful nights despite occasional issues with mattress quality.
The location is ideal for business travelers, with the hotel's proximity to the Oregon Convention Center facilitating participation in events and conferences. Meeting facilities are well-regarded, boosting the hotel's appeal for handling business events or hosting large groups.

Riverplace Hotel, is a wonderful place to stay if you are looking for comfort, great food and easy access to the city center. The rooms are lovely, clean and quiet; and the view is breathtaking. The hotel grounds are safe and well-maintained, which ensures a relaxing stay. The hotel staff is amazing with professional and helpful service, especially Parker who made our stay even more enjoyable. Though the room furnishings may be a bit outdated, the in-house restaurant that delivers to your room makes up for it with excellent food! The hotel's downtown location is perfect for exploring local shops and other city sights. Unfortunately, due to covid regulations, there are no spa services or pools available and only valet parking. The hotel also closes for a few hours during the day, but that did not affect our stay too much. Overall, Kimpton Riverplace Hotel offers great facilities and services with an amazing location, making it the perfect place to stay in the city.
