Hotel Alexander & Spa in Sanremo offers a reasonable and often satisfying experience for a three-star property. The location stands out as exceptional, providing easy access to San Remo center, which adds significant convenience for guests exploring the area. The value for money is particularly excellent considering the location, making it an affordable option for families and budget-conscious travelers.
The facilities, while old, are kept clean and well-maintained. The rooms come with basic amenities such as a safe and minibar, which is a pleasant surprise for a hotel of this rating. The breakfast, described as simple but good, contributes positively to the overall experience.
However, there are some notable drawbacks. The decoration and room equipment are described as outdated, aligning with typical expectations for a three-star hotel and some guests felt the outdated decor did not meet their hopes for a higher standard. The bathrooms are small and basic, contributing to the general impression of the accommodation being a bit outmoded.
The staff receives high marks for their friendliness, enhancing the stay for many visitors despite the decor issues. The hotel also features a supervised private car park, adding a layer of convenience for those traveling by car.
Overall, while the accommodations and decor might fall short for some, the value, cleanliness and location make Hotel Alexander & Spa a solid option for a three-star hotel in Sanremo.
