Junior Suite with Garden View On the first floor of the new Pavilion building our Garden view suits boast 'Juliet' balconies, with views across the hotel grounds and gardens. This suite also features a tea/coffee maker, minibar and seating area.

Rothay Manor Hotel is situated in the heart of the stunning Lake District with guests praising its perfect and beautiful location. The hotel is a great base to explore Ambleside and beyond with plenty of outdoor activities and walks nearby. Its excellent location means guests are within walking distance of the town center, as well as a range of cafes, shops and restaurants. Despite being close to a busy road, the hotel boasts a quiet and peaceful atmosphere with ample parking for those arriving by car. Its central location makes it easy to access popular locations such as Grasmere, Hawkshead and Ullswater, while Lake Windermere is also within easy reach. Whether looking to explore the great outdoors or simply relax in beautiful surroundings, guests will find the ideal location at Rothay Manor Hotel.

Breakfast

The breakfast at Rothay Manor Hotel is nothing short of amazing with guests raving about the freshly prepared fruit and yogurt and fantastic cooked options. It's been described as out of this world, exceptional, top class, fantastic, superb, incredible and the best breakfast some have had in the country. Guests appreciate the wonderful choice available with plenty of food to enjoy. The breakfast room is also lovely and the hotel's fine dining is just as delightful. The food is fabulous, excellent and superb, prepared with high-quality ingredients and presented beautifully. The hotel offers a wide choice of A La Carte or Bistro style evening meals and the biscuits in the room, made at the hotel, are delicious. The staff are also superb throughout with friendly and helpful service. While some have found portions small, others agree that the selection is great and the breakfast is perfect, delicious and truly memorable. Overall, guests have thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast experience at Rothay Manor Hotel with one stating it's one of the best they've had.

Dinner

Rothay Manor Hotel's dining experience is exceptional with exquisite food that is both delicious and creative. Guests can choose from a wide variety of menu options, including A La Carte and Bistro-style evening meals, as well as a wonderful taster menu with wine flight. The exceptional quality of the food easily lives up to the hotel's 3 AA rosette rating and guests raved about the incredible taste and presentation. The only downside was the portion sizes, which some guests felt were too small for the price. Despite this, many guests highly recommended the fine dining experience and one guest even called it one of the best dinners they had ever had. However, a few guests felt that the meal was overpriced or had too few options and one felt that the focus on "fine dining" had come at the expense of portion size. Overall, guests were impressed by the hotel's excellent restaurant and the quality of the food with some even comparing it favorably to more renowned fine dining establishments.

Guests can enjoy fresh milk in the small fridge and clean robes are provided. The hotel offers a range of room sizes and styles with some even featuring balconies and views of the garden. The beds are extra long and incredibly comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and spacious with some featuring massive baths. The hotel offers information about the local area and homemade biscuits. The staff and service are excellent. The bar and bedrooms are tastefully decorated and furnished. Some rooms may be in need of minor updates or have slight issues such as traffic noise, but overall the rooms are beautiful, comfortable and perfect for a lovely experience in the Lake District.

Guests rave about the big, comfy beds with some even wishing they could take them home. The rooms are furnished and finished to a very high standard with some being very spacious and equipped with large baths. Despite a few minor complaints – such as some rooms being too cold – guests generally find the beds to be exceptionally comfortable, perfect for a good night's sleep after a long day exploring the great location. Top it all off with a fabulous breakfast and you've got yourself an excellent stay at Rothay Manor Hotel.

Cleanliness

While there have been a few isolated incidents of cleanliness issues, these are the exception rather than the norm and overall the hotel is an excellent choice for a relaxing, hygienic stay.

The Rothay Manor Hotel has an exceptional reputation when it comes to its staff. Guests have raved about the friendly, welcoming and efficient nature of all members of staff they've encountered. Whether front of house, servers, chefs or cleaning staff, everyone seems to work tirelessly to create a pleasant and enjoyable stay for guests. All staff from the management down to the servers have been described as lovely, delightful, great, superb, courteous, engaging and professional. They are attentive but not overbearing and have gone out of their way to accommodate guests' preferences, even tweaking the menu to suit individual tastes. The hotel is full of warm welcomes and has a relaxing ambiance that is matched perfectly by the friendly and efficient service standards. One or two guests noted a frosty reception from one member of staff but this is not indicative of the overall experience. Ultimately, the service is what sets the Rothay Manor Hotel apart from other establishments.
