Build originally as a holiday palace for the Count of Graciosa. It has started to work as hotel in 1889 and, as far as we know, it is the second oldest hotel in operation in Portugal.

Here has lived Mr Jean Alexis Duparchy that's worked with Eiffel on the harbour in Porto and in Lisbon. He built one important part of railways in Beira Alta. He received the title of count by Charles the king of Portugal.
