Golf Place Inn Wollongong enjoys a prime location, nestled on a tranquil golf course while providing easy access to beaches, shops, restaurants and key local attractions. Its strategic position near Shellharbour, Wollongong and other local sights makes it a convenient choice for weddings, sports events and peaceful getaways. The location remains favorable due to its accessibility by public transport and ample free parking, despite occasional noise at night and a minor inconvenience of checking in at a different hotel.
Breakfast experiences have been mixed with some guests enjoying a delightful hot buffet, particularly the hash browns, when available. However, the closure of the restaurant often leaves guests to find their own food, leading to a somewhat inconsistent breakfast service.
The rooms are frequently praised for their spaciousness, modern amenities and cleanliness. Many guests find the accommodations comfortable and well-equipped with air conditioning, TVs and great views of the golf course. Although some minor cleanliness issues were noted, the overall feedback highlights the rooms as a comfortable and serene setting for both short and extended stays.
Cleanliness feedback is varied; while many commend the clean and comfortable rooms, others report issues with dirty common areas and inadequate maintenance. Despite this, the hotel's efforts in providing clean accommodations are appreciated.
The staff receives numerous commendations for their friendliness and helpfulness with specific mentions of individuals providing excellent service. While there are occasional gaps in local knowledge and instances of unmanned reception, the staff's commitment to a positive guest experience stands out.
The hotel's free WiFi is another point of mixed feedback. While it is a notable feature, guests frequently encounter stability issues, affecting the use of streaming services and overall connectivity.
The pool and BBQ area receive varied reviews with some guests enjoying these amenities but others expressing significant concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. The pool area often needs attention to meet guest expectations fully.
Parking is generally ample and convenient with easy access and plenty of space. However, issues like overflowing bins, tight spaces and occasionally occupied designated spots point to areas needing improvement.
The comfort of the beds is consistently praised with many guests having restful sleep experiences due to the clean linens and comfortable mattresses. Although some mixed opinions exist regarding mattress quality and size, the overall feedback is positive.
The pet-friendly policy of Golf Place Inn Wollongong is well-received with guests appreciating the ease of travel with their dogs. The provision of specific dog-friendly rooms and the warm welcome for pets enhance the overall stay for families traveling with pets.

Solomon Inn Motel Figtree offers great value for money as a budget property, making it ideal for short stays. Despite its modern 3-star facilities and good amenities, it is important to set expectations accordingly and not anticipate luxury. The accommodation is clean and reasonably priced with basic facilities that make it a practical choice for travellers on a budget.
However, the motel exhibits a dated 1970s style and some aspects of the rooms and decor are in need of upgrading and refurbishment. Guests have noted that while the amenities meet 3-star expectations, the overall aesthetic and installations feel rudimentary and outdated. Nevertheless, the clear thought and effort in maintaining and planning for improvements are evident, contributing to the overall value and appeal of the motel for budget-conscious travellers.

Boat Harbour Motel offers classic three-star comfort with reasonable service, providing good value for money. Despite being an older type building with some outdated decor, it maintains cleanliness and comfort. The bathrooms, although small and lacking in modern features, are functional. While not luxurious, the motel ensures a budget-friendly and cheerful stay, especially praised for its prime harbor location. Some guests have noted that the motel could benefit from updates, remarking it feels more two-and-a-half stars in terms of facilities.
