The suites are equipped with kitchens, adding a practical touch for those who appreciate self-catering arrangements during their stay. Budget-conscious guests find that the hotel provides a cost-effective option, as it is one of the more affordable accommodations in the area.
Guests remark on the quiet atmosphere of the rooms, which are consistently described as clean and come with comfortable beds, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Friendly staff contribute positively to the overall experience, readily assisting and welcoming guests upon arrival.
However, the hotel's age shows, as it is in need of remodeling, and some amenities could use improvement to meet the standards expected of a three-star establishment. The continental breakfast is standard, and the shared kitchen utensils fall short of expectations. While the value is acknowledged, the quality-price ratio might not satisfy all visitors, leaving room for enhancements.

Washington Square Inn stands as a practical choice for short-term travelers exploring San Francisco on a budget. While the hotel is noted for its affordability, it appears that there is room for improvement when it comes to the quality of amenities offered, with some guests wishing for additional facilities like a mini fridge in rooms. The electronic descriptions of amenities, although informative, seem to lack a personal touch according to some reviews. Hyatt Place San Francisco/Downtown offers a satisfactory experience for those seeking a stay at a three-star hotel, though it comes with some reservations. Many guests have found it to be a well-rated hotel, praising its bright and welcoming atmosphere with some even wishing to extend their stay. The rooms are noted for being very comfortable and fresh, adding a somewhat luxurious feel that might exceed typical three-star expectations.
However, the high prices for accommodations and parking have been frequently mentioned with many guests pointing out the limited parking options and expensive fees. The basic breakfast offerings have left some visitors wanting more, particularly given the price point. Additionally, a few negative experiences with housekeeping, such as bad-smelling towels and wet carpets, have been reported.
While the price-performance ratio has generally been appreciated, the overall sentiment remains that the hotel doesn't quite hit the four-star mark it might aspire to. Certain amenities and services could use improvement to better align with the high prices charged. Nevertheless, the hotel's optimal location and generally positive room quality make it a viable option for a downtown stay, especially for those booking with the trusted Hyatt name.

The hotel, built in 1912, exhibits an older charm with traditional features and a slightly outdated decor. This nostalgic theme, although pleasant to some, shows signs of wear and evokes the feeling of a bygone era. Guests appreciate the hotel's advantageous location, deeming it quite convenient for brief three-day stays or city trips where most of the time is spent exploring the urban landscape rather than lingering indoors. The general price-benefit ratio is considered good, providing fair value for a budget-conscious traveler who prioritizes location over the modernity of the facilities.
