Hôtel du Val d'Aure, nestled in the beautiful Aure Valley, provides a tranquil retreat with breathtaking views of the Pyrenees. Its prime location offers easy access to the attractions of Saint Lary and serves as an excellent starting point for exploring nearby valleys. The serene setting combines natural beauty and convenience, making it ideal for nature lovers and families.
The hotel is particularly renowned for its exceptional breakfast, which is often described as the highlight of a stay. With a diverse array of fresh and homemade options, including delightful pastries and cakes, guests appreciate the quality akin to a 4-star standard. Dinner similarly earns high praises for its delicious, home-cooked, regionally-inspired cuisine. The ever-changing menu provides a fresh and exciting experience, and guests frequently commend the warm and friendly dining atmosphere.
Although the rooms' décor could benefit from updates, guests find them spacious and comfortable enough to meet travelers' needs. The level of cleanliness in the rooms is commendable, with the hotel executing diligent efforts to maintain cleanliness despite its aging infrastructure. While some elements like the soundproofing and bathrooms need enhancement, the management's dedication to improvements is promising.
The staff at Hôtel du Val d'Aure is celebrated for their warm and welcoming demeanor, consistently providing excellent attention to detail and service. Their accommodating nature, along with the hotel's charming atmosphere, contributes significantly to the guests' positive experience.
While the pool offers a serene spot to unwind in the warmer months, its cleanliness has been noted as inconsistent, which travelers may want to consider. The bedding quality generally receives praise, though updates to mattresses and bed setups would enhance comfort further.
Overall, Hôtel du Val d'Aure stands out for its exceptional breakfast and dinner offerings, stunning location, and welcoming staff, providing guests with a memorable and enjoyable stay in the picturesque Pyrenees.
