Riviera Suites Melaka offers a mostly positive guest experience characterized by several appealing attributes. The hotel's location is one of its strong points, providing a calm and peaceful environment away from the bustling city center while still being strategically placed near key attractions like the Selat Melaka Mosque, Klebang and Jonker Walk. Despite being somewhat remote with abandoned shophouses and an unfinished complex around, this seclusion adds to the tranquility. The ample and secure parking is a highlight, although occasionally marred by unpleasant odors.
The rooms at Riviera Suites Melaka receive high praise for being spacious, comfortable and well-maintained. Guests appreciate the modern and retro aesthetic, cleanliness and the beautiful views from balconies and windows. The rooms' generous size makes them ideal for families and many laud the comfort level and furniture quality, despite minor issues like noise or occasional dust and stains.
In terms of breakfast, the experience is mixed. While some find the spread basic yet satisfactory with local delights and staples at a reasonable price, others criticize the limited variety and quality, along with the small and sparse selection in the breakfast area. This suggests room for improvement in meal variety and freshness.
For cleanliness, the hotel has both positive and negative feedback. Many guests report clean, comfortable rooms and praise the friendly housekeeping staff. However, there are concerns about inadequate cleanliness in certain areas, such as dusty corners, watermarks and peculiar odors in rooms or bathrooms. These issues point to the need for more consistent and thorough housekeeping practices.
The staff at Riviera Suites Melaka are often highlighted for their friendliness and helpfulness, contributing significantly to the overall pleasant atmosphere. Although there are observations about the need for better training and proactivity, particularly at the reception and in food services, the staff's welcoming demeanor remains a strong point.
The pool offers a cozy, relaxing environment, though it may sometimes lack cleanliness, ventilation and adequate lighting. Nonetheless, it remains a pleasant feature for leisurely relaxation. Unfortunately, the hotel's WiFi service receives consistent complaints about poor connectivity, which remains an unresolved issue despite the hotel's explanations.
Overall, Riviera Suites Melaka provides a tranquil retreat with excellent room comfort and an accommodating staff, despite some areas needing improvement in cleanliness, breakfast variety and internet connectivity.
