Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Bakersfield Inn - Airport offers a convenient location for travelers due to its proximity to the highway exit, airport and various dining options, making it a strategic choice for budget-conscious guests and those on road trips. The accessibility to the freeway and affordable pricing adds to its appeal, although the surrounding environment may be less desirable due to reports of high crime rates, frequent drug deals and concerns about homelessness and pests.
The rooms present a mixed picture. While some guests appreciated the clean, newly renovated rooms and found the beds comfortable, others pointed out numerous issues. Complaints included the presence of roaches, cigarette burns and generally dirty conditions. Some rooms lacked essential amenities like microwaves and refrigerators and equipment such as televisions were often not functioning properly. The night staff, particularly Christian and the security guard Clyde, were commended for their attentiveness.
Cleanliness is a significant concern for many guests. Reports of cockroaches, dirty sheets, moldy showers and poorly maintained fixtures were frequent, indicating a pattern of poor housekeeping standards. External areas were often dirty and trash-strewn, prompting some guests to take extra measures to sanitize their environment themselves.
On a more positive note, the staff generally receive commendations for their friendly and helpful service. Many guests highlighted the professionalism and ideal customer service skills of the front office staff, particularly the Caribbean/Jamaican lady, Vanessa and other desk agents. Exceptional service during check-in and check-out contributed positively to the overall guest experience.
In terms of bed comfort, opinions vary. While some guests described the beds as soft and comfortable, others found them hard or unclean. Despite the mixed reviews, a number of guests did find the beds satisfactory for a night's rest.
In summary, Bakersfield Inn - Airport is recognized for its strategic and convenient location, friendly and helpful staff and affordable rates. However, issues with cleanliness and room conditions are notable areas requiring improvement.

The outdoor pool at Vagabond Inn Bakersfield North receives mixed feedback from guests. There are several positive remarks about the pool with some noting that it looks good and is well-maintained. The pool has carded access, adding a layer of security and some guests describe it as nice and clean. However, numerous reviews also highlight concerns, mentioning that the pool is frequently dirty, unsanitary and sometimes occupied by shady individuals. Some guests mentioned that access to the pool was occasionally denied and there were instances when the pool was shut down.
