Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Mountain Sports Inn stands out as a prime choice for those seeking a cozy and convenient base for a mountain getaway, particularly in Killington, Vermont. Its exceptional location, close to the gondola lift and ski slopes, garners frequent praise, making it ideal for winter sports enthusiasts. Guests appreciate the easy access to nearby restaurants, adding to the overall appeal with a variety of dining options within reach.
The inn's accommodations are highlighted for their cleanliness and comfort with well-maintained rooms that include essential amenities like a large TV, WiFi and a fridge. Despite some dated decor and limited furniture in some rooms, the overall value for money, combined with the lack of hidden fees, contributes to high guest satisfaction. The friendly and helpful staff consistently receive commendations, enhancing the guest experience with their warm and accommodating service.
Breakfast at Mountain Sports Inn is another strong point, offering a mix of continental and made-to-order options that generally receive positive feedback. Guests enjoy the variety, including fresh-cooked eggs, pancakes and an ample selection of fruits. While there are occasional mentions of crowded space and minor cleanliness issues, the quality ingredients and beautiful setting provide a good start to the day.
Cleanliness is a recurring theme across reviews with most guests noting the tidy conditions of the rooms and common areas despite the inn's older appearance. The helpful staff also play a crucial role in maintaining these standards, further contributing to a pleasant stay.
The facility is particularly well-suited for skiing enthusiasts, thanks to its strategic location and amenities like equipment storage and a hot tub to unwind after a day on the slopes. Although some guests have reported varied experiences with the beds—ranging from comfortable to issues with mattress quality and noise from thin walls—many still find the sleeping arrangements satisfactory.
Overall, Mountain Sports Inn impresses with its great value, comfort, cleanliness and especially its prime location, making it an appealing choice for budget-conscious travelers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
