Location

Opal Sands is a fantastic hotel that offers its guests a prime location on the Gulf of Mexico. Sitting right on the water, it offers a golden location that is perfect for families with toddlers, couples on a romantic getaway or those who just love stunning ocean views. Guests will enjoy being able to walk to many restaurants and shops in the area, as well as having private beach access from the hotel. Balconies in every room face the Gulf, giving all guests a beautiful view. The hotel has everything one could need and the newly remodeled facilities are very comfortable. The hotel staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that guests have a wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable- not in the too busy part of the strip, but still within walking distance of everything. It's easy to get from the rooms to the pool and the beach, so guests can spend as much time as they want on the beautiful beach. From the location on the south end of town, guests are well-positioned to walk to restaurants, shopping, fun and nightlife. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, Opal Sands' location is perfect.

Breakfast

Opal Sands hotel offers a good restaurant with tasty food including omelettes at breakfast. Guests who only ate breakfast there rated it as "really good" and "great". Others commented that breakfast and dinner at sea guini were amazing with perfect taste. However, some guests had minor issues with the cleanliness of the towels and one reviewer had an unfortunate experience with bedbugs. Overall, Opal Sands is a gorgeous, immaculate property with a great atmosphere and a focus on cleanliness.

The Valet staff was reported by one guest to have excellent customer service with a smile. Finally, the concierge was highly knowledgeable and helpful and overall, the staff received glowing reviews for creating a wonderful experience for guests.

Pool

Opal Sands boasts a stunning swimming pool that guests can't stop raving about! Situated just a minute's walk from the beach, the pool area is a great spot for some relaxation if you want a break from the sand. With food and drink service on site, you won't have to move a muscle. A few guests did mention that the pool area could get crowded at times, but this didn't stop others from expressing how much they loved the pool's ambience. The pool is also an excellent place to cool off with free ice cream offered around 2 pm. Guests can enjoy an ocean view while lounging at the pool and excellent customer service from pool staff keeps visitors coming back for more. Though a few mentions of uncomfortable experiences such as children playing unsupervised in the hot tub or adults making out in the pool, the overwhelming majority of the reviews praise the pool's beauty and it's a great place to be with the family. The only real downside is that the pool can be quite small to accommodate all guests, but the convenient corner entry direct from the pool to the beach makes up for that and is an added bonus to the experience.

Beach

Opal Sands offers a great location right by the sea with a beautiful beach just a short walk away. Guests can enjoy great views of the Gulf from their hotel rooms and can even spot dolphins playing along the beach early in the morning. Although the beach can be quite crowded at times, convenience of beach access and proximity to the hotel cannot be beaten. The hotel even has its own private beach access. While some guests had to pay for beach chairs, the beach itself is free and not limited to hotel guests only. Although the beach can be quite cramped and the quality may vary due to the public nature of the beach, overall it is clean and unmistakably stunning.

Parking

Opal Sands offers valet parking for a fee and a parking garage for guests with standard size vehicles. Some guests with large trucks or cars had difficulty finding a suitable parking spot. Though some guests found the parking to be an issue, many appreciated the organized and fast valet service. The bathrooms are a bit of a trek from the outside parking and some guests waited for their car to be brought back up after valet service. The north side of the hotel overlooks a parking lot, but that does not detract from the beautiful view on the other side of the property. Guests should be prepared to pay extra fees for parking, valet service and other amenities. Overall, Opal Sands provides a convenient and efficient parking system for its guests.
