Former Castle HotelWith a history dating as far back as the 10th century, Schlosshotel Schkopau is an exquisite castle hotel. The castle was rebuilt in the 15th century in a Renaissance style, maintaining only its keep and its outer defensive wall. After WWII, the castle was used as a refugee shelter and it was later abandoned, until its current owners began restoring it to its former glory in 1996, to open as a luxurious hotel in 2001. Its idyllic location in the German countryside, as well as its historic and period decoration with lush furnishings and fireplaces make it ideal for a trip back in times long past.
