Summarized by AI
The Beach Retreat & Lodge at Tahoe features both heated and unheated pools. Guests appreciated the convenience of the centrally located pool and the cozy ambiance provided by fire pits lit early in the morning and at night, accompanied by s’mores kits. The heated pool received high marks for being wonderfully maintained, although some guests found it cold and occasionally closed during their stay.
However, reviews indicate a number of cleanliness and maintenance issues. Several guests noted the pool area was only semi-clean with murky water and pools often described as dirty with some even reporting spider webs. The hot tub was consistently criticized for being too small, dirty and occasionally closed or empty.
Crowding was another downside with the pool area often busy and sometimes overtaken by kids or non-guests. While there were ample amenities like tiki bars and beach access, practical issues such as the lack of towels, an out-of-ice ice machine and old pool facilities detracted from the overall experience.
Despite these drawbacks, some guests still enjoyed their time at the pool every day, highlighting that when adequately maintained, the heated pool and amenities like fire pits can significantly enhance the stay.

The heated pool, coupled with a nearby hot tub, provides a relaxing atmosphere for families as children especially seem to enjoy the pool and beach amenities.
