Gîte et chambres d'hôtes Les Framboises is praised for its tranquil location in the village of Katzenthal, surrounded by picturesque Alsatian vineyards and ideal for exploring scenic trails and nearby tourist towns. The strategic location is particularly appreciated during the Christmas market season and appeals to hikers and cyclists. Though dining and grocery options aren't immediately nearby, the village's charm, featuring an old castle and forested areas, enhances the experience.
The property offers a unique breakfast experience, complete with vintage puppet shows and genuine hospitality from the host. Guests enjoy a rich selection that includes homemade jams, honey, apple juice, and regional specialties like kouglofs, making breakfast a memorable highlight of their stay.
Rooms are generally spacious and comfortable, with some offering stunning vineyard views. However, mixed feedback indicates areas for improvement, including outdated decor, inconsistent cleanliness, and some reports of discomfort with bedding quality. The overall cleanliness of the property varies, with some noting impeccable tidiness and others highlighting issues like dust and inadequate maintenance.
The staff, particularly Sophie, receives high commendation for their friendliness, professionalism, and attentiveness. Sophie's helpful tips and flexibility greatly enhance the guest experience, contributing to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While most feedback is positive, there are occasional mentions of inconsistency in service interactions.
Free Wi-Fi is available, but connectivity can be unreliable, with some guests experiencing issues accessing the internet, especially at night. Parking receives positive feedback for its convenience and safety, although space can be limited when crowded. Lastly, the beds garner mixed reviews, with some guests finding them comfortable, while others suggest improvements due to issues with mattress quality and size.
