Landhaus Töpferhof bei Travemünde stands out as a charming retreat nestled between Hemmelsdorfer Lake and the Baltic Sea, offering tranquil surroundings ideal for those seeking peace and scenic beauty. The hotel's location is praised for its easy access to Travemünde and Timmendorf while still providing a secluded escape from busy tourist spots. Guests admire the beautifully landscaped grounds with features like a romantic glass pavilion, which make it perfect for short getaways, bike tours and day trips.
The breakfast at Landhaus Töpferhof is a significant highlight, often described as one of the best by guests. Served at Café Tausendschön, it features an extensive and varied selection, including freshly baked goods, scrambled eggs, fish platters and fresh pancakes. The high quality and meticulous presentation, combined with a cozy and delightful ambiance, are consistent points of praise. Attentive and friendly staff ensure a smooth and enjoyable morning dining experience.
When operational, the hotel's restaurant, Ludwig's, provides a delightful dining experience with sensational, high-quality food and a cozy terrace setting. Vegan options are available, catering to diverse dietary needs. However, frequent closures and limited operation times occasionally disappoint guests who expect full dining services.
Rooms at Landhaus Töpferhof are frequently complimented for their chic Scandinavian décor, spaciousness and cleanliness. Guests enjoy the cozy and well-maintained nature of the accommodations with many appreciating features like private terraces and thoughtfully arranged furniture in larger family apartments. Some minor issues do arise, such as inadequate lighting, outdated furniture in some areas and occasional cleanliness concerns, but these are generally outweighed by the overall positive feedback on the rooms' cozy and stylish ambiance.
The staff at Landhaus Töpferhof are often described as exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating, significantly enhancing the guest experience. The wellness area, including a sauna, provides a cozy retreat appreciated by many, especially after a day of exploring. Unique features like the on-site pottery course add a special touch to the stay.
Cleanliness of both rooms and shared facilities is frequently praised, although there are occasional mentions of minor issues needing attention. Despite these isolated remarks, the well-maintained nature of the hotel is a strong positive feature.
Parking at the hotel is generally convenient with ample spaces available. However, the 4 EUR daily parking fee has been noted as an area for improvement with guests preferring a more transparent fee structure. Additionally, there is a need for charging facilities for electric vehicles.
Despite some mixed reviews on aspects like Wi-Fi performance and outdated sanitary facilities affecting the perceived four-star rating, the hotel is highly recommended for its overall ambiance, quality service and beautiful, peaceful setting. Families in particular appreciate the spacious accommodations and child-friendly amenities, making Landhaus Töpferhof a favored destination for a relaxing yet engaging vacation experience.
