Hotel Stara Skola, situated in the charming town of Sloup in the Moravian Karst, is highly regarded for its strategic and picturesque location. This advantageous setting allows guests easy access to popular attractions such as the Sloup-Šošůvka Caves and the Macocha Abyss, as well as numerous hiking and cycling trails. The hotel's central yet tranquil environment makes it a perfect retreat after a day of exploration, further complemented by convenient amenities like private parking.
Guests consistently praise the hotel’s dining experience, particularly the breakfast and dinner offerings. Breakfasts are highlighted for their taste and variety, featuring plentiful buffet options that are well-received for their quality and service. Dinner at the on-site restaurant also draws high accolades, showcasing excellent traditional Czech dishes and enhancing the overall dining experience. Although some guests expressed a preference for simpler meal choices, the general consensus celebrates the restaurant's excellent culinary standards.
The accommodation aspect of Hotel Stara Skola offers a charming experience with its spacious, clean rooms, even if some features show signs of age. Despite occasional noise from street-facing rooms and a few minor critiques regarding the beds, many visitors find the rooms comfortable and reminiscent of classic guesthouses. The cleanliness of the hotel, especially the wellness area, contributes to a peaceful and comforting atmosphere.
A major highlight of guests’ experiences is the exceptional staff, known for their friendliness and efficiency. The hotel team is repeatedly applauded for its warm and accommodating service, making guests feel welcome and attended to throughout their stay.
While parking options are generally appreciated for their accessibility and planning, the limited number of spaces and parking lot closing time may require advance arrangements.
