Strand Öland enjoys a stellar reputation primarily for its prime location, excellent breakfast and exceptional staff. Situated by the beach and harbor, the hotel charms guests with stunning sea views and a magical ambiance, especially at sunset. Its central position in Borgholm ensures convenient access to local attractions, shops, restaurants and cafés, making it ideal for both leisure and business travelers. Guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s outdoor seating, pool, terrace and nearby beach.
Breakfast at Strand Öland is a standout, praised for its abundance, variety and quality. The buffet caters to a wide range of dietary preferences, including options for allergy sufferers and is presented in a clean and tidy manner. While there are minor criticisms, like occasional shortages during peak times, the breakfast experience overall is highly satisfying, offering a great start to the day.
The rooms present a mixed bag. Many feature large balconies with beautiful sea views and are spacious and comfortable, especially family rooms. However, some guests have noted that certain rooms and furnishings are outdated with maintenance issues. Concerns about cleanliness, including dust and spider webs, are raised by several reviewers. Similarly, bathrooms receive mixed reviews for their condition and size.
Cleanliness is another area where feedback is varied. While some rooms are noted to be clean and fresh, others fall short with issues like mold in bathrooms and unsatisfactory room cleaning. Maintenance problems, such as poor ventilation, also detract from the overall cleanliness experience for some guests.
The hotel's staff receive high marks for their friendliness and attentiveness. Guests appreciate the welcoming and helpful service, particularly at the reception and in the restaurant. The general consensus is that the staff significantly enhance the guest experience by maintaining a high standard of customer care.
Overall, Strand Öland excels in location, breakfast offerings and staff service, but could benefit from improvements in room maintenance and overall cleanliness to provide an even more enjoyable stay.

Summary of reviews related to the 'Pool' category
Summarized by AI
Visitors to First Camp Ekerum - Öland generally have high expectations for the facilities, particularly the swimming pool, which is a key attraction for many travelers. The pool itself receives positive feedback when operational, as it is a significant reason why guests choose this accommodation. However, there have been multiple instances of the pool being closed, leading to some disappointment among guests who were not compensated for the inconvenience. The closures seem to be related to seasonal adjustments, with certain amenities closing from mid-August despite the presence of guests. This aspect might be worth noting for travelers who plan visits outside the peak season. Overall, while the pool is a valued feature when available, guests may want to confirm its operational status during their intended stay to avoid disappointment.
