For those who appreciate a quiet getaway in a secluded paradise, this resort is an ideal choice. However, some guests noted that the road leading to the hotel is bumpy and uncomfortable and essential amenities are far away, requiring a long and pricey drive to the airport or town. The beach itself is private, but not the best for swimming and a few guests found it dirty. Despite these issues, many guests appreciated the serene and isolated environment with only the sounds of birds and monkeys. The hotel offers a private pool for swimming and some rooms have stunning ocean views. While it may not be the most conveniently located resort, The Residence Zanzibar offers a unique opportunity to escape into nature and enjoy a quiet retreat with beautiful surroundings.

The rooms are much larger than they appear in pictures with Zen-like decor and amazing bathrooms. The villas are all clean and cosy with high-quality details and comfortable beds. With their own pool, some with outdoor showers, guests felt like they were in their own private paradise.

The resort food received some criticism but the cleaning standard, coupled with the spacious and clean villas that come with private clean swimming pool is something to be recommended.

Edith and her team provided kind and thoughtful attention, even decorating a room for a guest's birthday. The restaurant manager was hospitable and the spa service was praised as being professional. The staff are polite, attentive and accommodating, but some reviews noted some organization issues. Nevertheless, the overall experience was amazing, thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, including Wilfred, Faidha, Nerry, Safia and Juma. The personnel are charming, competent and provide exceptional customer service. Marco, Aziza and Abdul stood out for their kindness and professionalism. The receptionist, Adam, tried to make up for a delayed check-in by offering complimentary items, but some guests noted that promised surprises did not happen. Despite some minor issues, the staff made guests feel at home and ensured their requests were always attended to promptly. It's no wonder that many guests praised the staff as being heartwarming, friendly, polite and attentive.
