Kliczków Castle is a majestic medieval castle teemed with history. Nestled in a forest near Bory Dolnośląskie, it creates a mysterious and enchanting atmosphere for all guests. Today, it has been restored in its full glory as a conference and recreation center and hotel. Its Castle Chambers are elegantly decorated and able to transport any guest back in the time of chivalry and romance. Guests can also benefit from the castle hotel's numerous romantic and relaxing packages, spending the most dreamy and fairytale like vacation.
The building in which this historic hotel is housed today was built on the ruins of a knight's fortress on the Biała Lądecka River, which later became the foundations of the Renaissance mansion. Over the past 500 years it has changed ownership countless times, becoming home to great Slavic, Prussian, Welsh and French families. Due to its multicultural ownership, the castle was renovated many times, according to the style and preferences of each owner and the era they lived, resulting in the unique architectural mosaic it is today.
Located right at the Czech-Lusatian border, the castle was initially built in 1247 by the Czech King Wenceslas I and was used as a stronghold. Until the 14th century, the castle changed hands many times, always coming to the possession of various noble families. In 1909, a German cigar manufacturer purchased the castle and began renovations that restored its previous grandeur from the 18th century. During WWII, the castle was used as a cryptography school by the army, but after the war came to an end, it was ransacked numerous times. In 1952, it was taken over by the Polish Army and used as a military holiday resort, resulting in its being erased from all official maps. It was turned into a hotel in 1996 and until today it offers the richest accommodation to all its guests.
