There were also reports of dirty rooms, unclean spas and mouldy salads left in fridges from previous guests. Some guests felt that the hotel didn't meet the standards of other 4-star hotels in its price range and that it was perceived as a 4-star hotel, but not actually worthy of that rating. However, there were some positive reviews from guests who believed that this hotel deserves to do well. Nevertheless, it's clear that there's an urgent need for refurbishment to bring the hotel up to a true 4-star standard.

The guests would recommend this hotel for stays in the local area despite it not being officially rated as 4-star. However, some guests comment that, for the price of £140 a night, the hotel needs more attention to detail. Additionally, some areas of the hotel are old and tired. Despite this, the hotel provides very good and superb services and facilities, including a proper chef in the kitchen. On the downside, some guests felt that the chef was absent, affecting the quality of the food and that no apologies were provided.
