Breakfast
The Glenroyal Hotel offers a range of breakfast options for its guests with many describing it as tasty, lovely, fantastic, brilliant and even excellent. There is a lot of variety to choose from with some guests noting they had good options to choose from and others saying the menu was fab and had a lot to choose from. Many guests appreciated the quality and flavor of the food, calling it delicious and noting that there was no grease on the plate after eating. Some guests would have liked to see more options besides the full fry up, but overall, they were satisfied. While some guests found the breakfast to be a letdown, others found it to be the nicest thing about the hotel. The breakfast room, however, could have been nicer. Overall, the breakfast was a highlight for many guests with some calling it amazing, healthy and even fab.

Dinner
The dinner at Glenroyal Hotel has mixed reviews. Some guests thought it was excellent with super nice starters, amazing food and helpful staff at the Arkle Bar. The restaurant staff went above and beyond to make special occasion meals extra special. However, there were some disappointments with limited food options, pricey and overpriced dishes, small portions and flavorless dishes, such as the aubergine steak. Some guests also had negative experiences with a rude manager and the steak being served with no sides. Despite these hiccups, many guests enjoyed their dinners and even got food after the Garth Brooks concert. Just make sure to check the menu and prices before ordering.

Rooms
The Glenroyal Hotel's rooms have received mixed reviews from guests. While some have found the rooms spacious, clean and well-equipped, others have found them to be tired, dated and dreary with carpets and bathrooms in need of renovation. Some guests have found the rooms uncomfortably warm, while others have found them chilly and complained about heating only being on during certain times. Additionally, some guests have noted that the size of the rooms was not up to expectations and that some of the beds were uncomfortable. However, most guests appreciated the cleanliness of the rooms and public areas with some even describing the rooms as beautiful and modern. Some guests have also praised the hotel's amenities, including a leisure center with a jacuzzi and sauna. On the downside, some guests have mentioned issues such as lack of air conditioning, no refrigerator in the room, missing toiletries and limited towels. Finally, while some guests have found the breakfast excellent, others noted that it wasn't included in the price and some have found the dinner overpriced.

Beds
If you're someone who values a good night's sleep, then the Glenroyal Hotel might be the place for you! Reviews of the beds at the hotel are mixed with some guests finding them uncomfortable or too hard. However, others have described them as the most comfortable they've ever slept on in a hotel. The hotel offers a variety of room sizes and types with some guests even staying in larger rooms with multiple double beds. Overall, the rooms are described as clean, spacious and comfortable with modern bathrooms to boot. If you're picky about your mattress, it might be worth requesting a room with a newer one - some guests reported that the older spring mattresses were uncomfortable. However, if you're able to sleep easily no matter what, then the Glenroyal Hotel might be the perfect place for your next vacation.

Cleanliness
Guests at the Glenroyal Hotel have mixed reviews when it comes to cleanliness. Some guests described the hotel as "clean" and "very clean", while others had issues with certain areas. The pool area and changing rooms were mentioned as being not clean and some guests found hairs and dirt in their rooms. However, many guests praised the hotel's public areas and facilities for being clean and well-maintained. The staff were described as friendly and welcoming and the rooms were generally spacious and comfortable. Overall, the hotel could benefit from improving its cleaning standards, but guests who had a clean room had a pleasant stay at a nicely decorated and modern hotel.

Staff
The Glenroyal Hotel boasts a welcoming and accommodating staff that goes above and beyond for their guests, from check-in to check-out. Guests rave about the exceptional service from the reception staff, especially Katie and Megan, who are both outstanding in their roles. The restaurant staff are also commended for their good humour, excellent service and skilled delivery. The overall atmosphere is warm and supportive with staff going the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction, including providing surprise birthday treats in the rooms. The hotel is also noted for being kid-friendly and the staff at the kid's club are fantastic. While the majority of the staff are friendly and efficient, some guests have had negative experiences with a few isolated staff members. Nonetheless, the majority of the reviews praise the staff for their professionalism, friendliness and excellent service.

Pool
The Glenroyal Hotel boasts a nice swimming pool facility, which is great for families with kids. However, some guests have experienced issues with the pool due to swimming lessons monopolizing the entire pool area, leaving very little space for hotel guests to swim. Additionally, some guests reported a shortage of towels available at the pool. Despite these issues, guests continue to praise the pool and its warm water, making it a great option for families with children. The pool is also part of a larger leisure center, which includes a gym, spa and sauna. Overall, the pool is a great feature of the hotel and adds to the experience of staying in this lovely area.

The hotel is ideal for staying near Dublin or Kildare village and always able to find a parking spot. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. With the kids club, the hotel is recommended for families looking for a 100% kid-friendly destination. The kids loved their stay and even received a welcome bag. The hotel has so much to offer for families and the kids entertainment was brilliant, making it a great value for family stay. However, one guest won't recommend it for a family and mentioned that the hallway to the room was very dirty from the kids messing it up. Overall, Glenroyal Hotel is a fantastic getaway for anyone, family or couple with attention to kids and facilities in the swimming pool for babies.

4 Star
