Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Super 8 by Wyndham Abilene South enjoys a prime location that guests find highly convenient. Positioned off the highway, it offers easy access to essentials such as grocery stores, workplaces, restaurants and shopping centers, making it ideal for both business and leisure travelers. The quiet yet central neighborhood allows for short drives to most destinations, adding to the overall convenience.
The guest experience with breakfast was largely negative. While occasional positive comments noted good coffee and the novelty of a Texas-shaped waffle maker, the consensus highlighted a lack of variety, missing essential items and cleanliness and maintenance issues in the breakfast area.
The rooms are appreciated for their spaciousness and comfort, but cleanliness issues are a frequent concern. Specific problems include stains, cigarette burns and unpleasant odors. Instances of broken bathroom fixtures and malfunctioning electronics, as well as inconsistent housekeeping services, were also reported.
Cleanliness is a mixed bag at the hotel. Some guests found their rooms clean and comfortable, but numerous reviews cited dirty linens, stained carpets and inadequately cleaned bathrooms. Common areas like hallways and elevators also faced criticism for sticky floors and cigarette smells, indicating a struggle to maintain a fresh environment.
The staff at Super 8 by Wyndham Abilene South receive high praise for their friendliness and helpfulness with specific recognition for individuals who went above and beyond. However, there were some reports of rudeness and unprofessional behavior, as well as issues related to staff shortages and check-in protocol.
The hotel's wifi service is another area of concern with guests frequently encountering slow or intermittent connections. Some reported not receiving a wifi password, further complicating access.
The pool receives mixed reviews. While appreciated by many as a refreshing and pleasant spot to unwind, issues with cleanliness were also noted, affecting the overall enjoyment for some guests.
The beds garner mixed feedback as well. Many found them comfortable and praised their softness, contributing to a relaxing stay. However, problems like broken frames, old mattresses and cleanliness issues such as stains and even reports of bed bugs were mentioned, indicating a need for improvements.
In summary, while Super 8 by Wyndham Abilene South benefits from an excellent location and a friendly staff, its offerings in terms of breakfast, room and common area cleanliness, wifi service and bed maintenance require significant improvements to meet guest expectations consistently.
