Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Appleby Manor Hotel & Garden Spa, set in the picturesque Cumbrian countryside, is highly favored by guests for its stunning location, charming character, and tranquil atmosphere. The hotel, graced with beautiful gardens and views over the Eden Valley, provides a serene retreat while maintaining easy access to major roads such as the A66 and M6. Guests frequently commend the hotel's friendly and professional staff, who are noted for their exceptional service and warm hospitality that make visitors feel genuinely welcomed and valued.
The dining experiences at Appleby Manor are particularly praised, with breakfast standing out for its wide range of fresh and well-prepared options, served in a serene environment with lovely views. Dinner offerings in both the bistro and fine dining restaurant receive high marks for quality and taste, though there are occasional comments about limited bistro choices and the vegetarian menu. Nonetheless, guests appreciate the attentive service, which greatly enhances their overall dining satisfaction.
Room accommodations at the hotel are described as comfortable, clean, and spacious, with many enjoying the delightful views of the surrounding countryside. The modern amenities, including whirlpool baths and thoughtful room upgrades, contribute to a cozy and luxurious experience for many guests. Although there are occasional mentions of minor wear and smaller room sizes, these seem to be exceptions to the generally positive feedback regarding the comfortable and well-appointed rooms.
The hotel’s spa receives high admiration for its fantastic facilities and tranquil ambiance, offering guests a truly relaxing escape. The clean and calm surroundings, along with a variety of treatments such as the aqua thermal journey, provide an exceptional spa experience. Despite some additional costs for spa services, the experience is overwhelmingly positive, leaving many guests refreshed and rejuvenated.
However, the hotel's Wi-Fi presents challenges, as many guests report slow and unreliable connectivity, especially in the rooms—a notable downside for business travelers. Nonetheless, the overall atmosphere and top-notch service from the staff contribute greatly to the enjoyable experience at Appleby Manor Hotel & Garden Spa.
Overall, Appleby Manor Hotel & Garden Spa is a highly recommended retreat characterized by its scenic location, outstanding service, delightful dining, and relaxing spa facilities, making it an ideal destination for those seeking rest and relaxation in a beautiful setting.
