Summary of reviews
Summarized by AI
Brasserie Michel / Cesar Hotel is a well-regarded establishment praised for its prime location in the heart of Le Portel, just steps from the beach and surrounded by local shops, restaurants and bakeries. Its tranquil yet convenient setting provides easy access to both the seaside and nearby attractions like Boulogne-sur-Mer and Nausicaa. While some noise due to its central position is occasionally mentioned, most guests appreciate the peaceful environment and the advantage of free public parking right in front of the hotel.
Guests are particularly pleased with the breakfast offerings, noting its affordability and value. The hearty breakfast features delicious croissants, fresh bread and a pleasant service that enhances the experience despite the limited variety. The dinner service at Brasserie Michel receives high praise for its excellent quality, pleasant atmosphere and well-curated cuisine, including regional specialties and convenient in-room pizza orders.
The rooms at Brasserie Michel / Cesar Hotel are described as clean and reasonably priced, although they can feel small and somewhat outdated. Some rooms are spacious and well-presented and practical amenities such as tea facilities and fridges are appreciated. However, consistent mentions of noise, outdated furnishings and occasional maintenance issues suggest room for improvement.
Cleanliness is a mixed area with some guests praising the clean rooms and tidy common areas, while others report significant issues like mold, dirty air vents and neglected housekeeping. The friendly and helpful staff are a highlight, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere despite occasional communication challenges and staffing needs.
WiFi service at the hotel has received mixed reviews with many guests facing connectivity issues or weak signals, which can be frustrating. The hotel is family-friendly, offering spacious family rooms and comfortable amenities, though occasional noise at night can be a concern.
The beds are generally praised for their comfort and cleanliness, contributing to a restful stay. However, some guests noted issues like mattresses being too hard or too soft, which affected their sleeping experience.
Lastly, the hotel is dog-friendly, welcoming both small and large well-behaved dogs. Despite minor fees and local restrictions on dogs, the hotel’s efforts to accommodate pet owners are appreciated.
Overall, Brasserie Michel / Cesar Hotel is valued for its excellent location, friendly staff and dining options, providing a comfortable and enjoyable stay for most guests.
